I am unfamiliar with the european game, and wondered what they use as chips.
Is it only plaques or do they have poker chips.
The reason why I ask is because i have a family member going to Germany and a few countries in europe. They said they would pick up chips in the areas where they are at. I would like to find a site showing the different chips like the chip guide here in the USA.
They'll find a variety of chips over there, depending on which casino they go to. You can find some American-style chips, rarely clay but mostly the plastic Bud Jones/B&G type chips. Some casinos use coin center chips.
The classic chips in Europe are jetons and plaques. Jetons are made from the plaque material but are round.
Is there a site that shows the chips at each casino like we have here?

There are people who have their collection online. Mine is far from up to date but you will see a few of the casinos listed. One interesting thing about Germany there are two classes of casinos. Go somewhere like Aachen its a very upscale casino that requires a suit jacket and tie to enter. Compare that to Hamburg that requires a pulse (optional).

I would be interested in something like this also, except for chips from Irish casinos. Not that many casinos over there, so it would be a pretty short list....
