Chips: 10,507 | | | Re: "Newbie Tip of the Day" - A series of advice messages... Newbie Tip Of The Day - Tip # 59 Visit Richard Huber's Laughlin Chip Site
This is my 40th in a series of posts related to available online resources.
Over the next few weeks I will be focusing on a different resource site each day. Each of these sites has invaluable information to make your collecting experience all it can be.
While there are a lot of sites dedicated to Vegas or Reno, there is not much information on casinos outside those regions. Richard Huber helps take care of the Laughlin area with his Laughlin Chip Site. Richards site features scans of just about all chips from Laughlin including House, Commemoratives and roulettes.
Many of the casino links even feature slot cards and NCV chips.
If you collect Laughlin chips, you wont want to miss Richards site. http://www.laughlinchips.org/ Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more Tips of the day coming tomorrow.

This is my 41st in a series of posts related to available online resources.
Over the next few weeks I will be focusing on a different resource site each day. Each of these sites has invaluable information to make your collecting experience all it can be.
There are not a whole lot of chips dedicated to non US chips but Fran's is one of them. While not a complete guide like some of the sites I have mentioned in previous Tips, Fran Alejandre has done a great job showing scans of many European, Asian and other foreign country chips, jetons and plaques.
If you collect foreign jetons and plaques like I do, you will find Fran's site fascinating viewing and its always a pleasurable visit.
Great job Fran, keep up the good work. http://www.franchips.com/ Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more Tips of the day coming tomorrow.

One thing that I have not talked about a lot in previous Tips is Silver Strikes. That changes today !!!!!
If you collect Silver Strikes then this is the place to be ! http://www.silverstrikers.com/
This site is the Official Web Site Of The Silver Strikers and everything you ever wanted to know about strikes can be found here. Information on types of Strikes, Composition, Mint Marks, New Issues, Strike News and all information relating to the Silver Strikers Club can be found on this site.
There is also a link to TheStrikePoint.com chat board that I will discuss in a separate Tip Of The Day.
Lets not forget about the scans…. Just about every known strike can be seen here. This is a well put together and maintained site and is a must visit for those who collect Silver Strikes. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more Tips of the day coming tomorrow.

Pete and Chantal have put together a nice On-Line Museum that features Las Vegas Chips & Tokens. On this site you will see scans of more than 10,000 Las Vegas chips that are referenced by Casino name.
Most links also show a picture of the casino along with the known address and open and close dates. Extremely well done and a fantastic resource tool for Vegas chips & Tokens. http://www.oldvegaschips.com/casinoz.htm Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more Tips of the day coming tomorrow.

This is my 44th in a series of posts related to available online resources.
Over the next few weeks I will be focusing on a different resource site each day. Each of these sites has invaluable information to make your collecting experience all it can be.
While I don’t consider this site to be a reference or resource site, I definitely wanted to discuss it as it has become a large part of my own collecting experience. The Gamblers General Store bills itself as The World’s Largest Gambling Superstore!
Need Chips, Dice, Cards, Layouts, Books, Slot Machines or anything else gaming related, you can find it here. Anything from a money paddle to a full sized craps table can be found on this site. If your ever in Vegas, this store is worth the visit for sure. If not, the web site is the next best thing. If its gambling related and it cant be found at the Gamblers general Store, they just don’t make it ………… http://www.gamblersgeneralstore.com/ Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more Tips of the day coming tomorrow.

This is my 45th in a series of posts related to available online resources.
Over the next few weeks I will be focusing on a different resource site each day. Each of these sites has invaluable information to make your collecting experience all it can be.
This interesting site opens the door to a whole new world of collectables…. Those associated with Nevada Brothels. Cathouse Chips.com has been producing chips for the Brothels of Nevada for some time now.
While there is no live gaming going on in these establishments throughout Nevada, these chips are more often used as business cards for many of the girls and as discounts for the bars.
Cathouse Chips also produces commemorative chips and usually had a collection of Matchbooks & menus available as well.
Be careful with this site as it is ADULT ONLY because some of the chips do have some nudity or adult content on them.
If your interested in Brothel chips, shoot Richard or Sam an email as they are great guys to deal with and you wont be disappointed http://www.cathousechips.com/index.html

The Las Vegas Casino Deathwatch site is one of the most interesting that I will discuss in my Tips Of The Day. This site not only shows information about closed casinos, but tried to pick which ones may be next on the list…….
Lots of great links can be found within the site including fantastic videos of Implosions. Love the movie Casino ? Then you will love this site.
For those of you who don’t know who Frank "Lefty" Rosenthal is, he was the basis for the Robert De Niro character in the movie. In fact many people say the movie Casino is actually the life of Frank Rosenthal.
While this is not your regular collectors site, for those who love Vegas like I do you will find lots of fantastic info here. Read Stories about Frank's life, check out his betting tips, and look thru all the great links.
There is also links to information an Vegas Sportsbooks, Casino Directories and best of all advice from possibly the greatest sports handicapper of all time.
Take a tour thru the site and you will be sure to love it as much as I do. http://frankrosenthal.com/ Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more Tips of the day coming tomorrow.
