This is my 31st in a series of posts related to available online resources.
Over the next few weeks I will be focusing on a different resource site each day. Each of these sites has invaluable information to make your collecting experience all it can be.
Ron and Julie have put together a great site that is dedicated to Chipping and Chippers. The Highlight of the site is the Chat room where all kinds of chippers come to talk chips nightly. Registration to the chat is simple and is not even required for temporary access.
You never know who you might find I the chat room as we have had visits from everyone from Hall Of Fame Members, Book Authors, Experts in every field and lots of other Newbie's as well.
Ron and Julie are definitely two of the nicest people I know and I am sure you will agree. During convention time you can usually find them along with many others at the Splashbar at the Riviera. Ron was last years "Splashy Award" winner and is 1/2 of the BAM Brothers duo. Another great part of the website is the Chippers Photos page where you can see photos of the entire Splashbar crowd. Be sure to turn the music on and the speakers up as the music is rockin and gets you ready for Vegas !!!!!!! Great job Ron & Julie and see yall in the Chat Room !!!!! http://www.lasvegas2you.com/index.html Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more Tips of the day coming tomorrow. Want to avoid a trip to the post office when mailing your Ebay packages ?
The process can seem very confusing to many so they don't even bother. Well don’t let that stop you any more !!!!
Take a look at this guide written by our own Robert Eisenstadt. The guide is simple to use and can save an enormous amount of time standing in line at the post office when you can print your shipping labels in the comfort of your own home.
Once you get familiar with how to do this, you will wonder how you ever made it without using it before . Great job Robert for helping us understand the system. http://reviews.ebay.com/Introduction-to-printing-shipping-labels-and-postage_W0QQugidZ10000000004429200 Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more Tips of the day coming tomorrow.

I must admit that since I am not a Token collector myself I have a severe lack of knowledge in this area. However anything about tokens that I wanted to know, can be found on Dan Wickett's Web Site.
This appears the be a fairly comprehensive on-line guide to tokens available and contains a massive amount of scans and Information. Within Dan's site you will find links to tokens from all over the world sorted by state or region.
While this site is primarily a "Sales" site, it can give you a good idea at what these tokens values are and can be used as a Great reference tool. http://www.casino-tokens.com/index.html

Ever wonder what Nevada chips were approved by the Gaming Control Board and when ? Then this is the site for you. This site maintained by the State of Nevada Gaming Control Board lists all chips and tokens that they have approved for use In casinos and other gaming locations since 1990.
If its not on this site, it hasn't been used legally in a casino.
Take a browse thru the site and you will get a good idea on just how many chips and tokens are approved every month and in what denominations. You can even see those that Gaming has disapproved as well. http://www.gaming.nv.gov/chip_token_rpt.htm

Have you ever seen a chip that you wonder if it is real? Take a look at this great site that is kept up by David Spragg and linked thru the Webpage. It is David's goal to list every Fake, Fantasy and Counterfeit chip known on this page to help other chippers identify what chips are real and what chips are not.
This is a fantastic idea and huge undertaking which in my opinion was sorely needed.
Thanks David and all that have contributed scans to this fantastic endeavor. http://www.ccgtcc.com/~fantasy/fakes_body.html

This is my 36th in a series of posts related to available online resources.
Over the next few weeks I will be focusing on a different resource site each day. Each of these sites has invaluable information to make your collecting experience all it can be.
If you have read the Chipboard over the past few years you have most likely heard the phrase "Brass Core Scandal". Want to know what this is all about? Take a look at the site to learn all about it.
The "Brass Core Scandal" was one of the first real controversies of the club and is a very sore subject for many of our members. Before this situation occurred most people took for granted that the chips that they were buying and selling were all genuine casino chips without question. For many people this all changed when this situation came to light.
I will not go into a lot of details as they are all listed on this site that is hosted on the web site. If you collect Brass Core chips and are not aware of the previous situation, this is a must read. http://www.ccgtcc.com/brass_core.html

Have you ever gotten a Fraternal Order of Eagles chip with nothing more than a number on the back? If you ever wondered where this chip is from, wonder no more…….
This simple site lists all FOE chips in numerical order and identifies exactly where that lodge was (Or still is) located. This is just one more great resource tool that can be found on the web site and is the work of Forrest Stephens. http://www.ccgtcc.com/foe.htm

Chips: 9,900 | | | Re: "Newbie Tip of the Day" - A series of advice messages... Newbie Tip Of The Day - Tip # 57 Visit The Nevada Casino Chips known to exist Cancelled Listing on the website
This is my 38th in a series of posts related to available online resources.
Over the next few weeks I will be focusing on a different resource site each day. Each of these sites has invaluable information to make your collecting experience all it can be.
Now that you have read the story of the Brass Core Scandal a few days ago, you might be asking yourself "If this happened with Brass Core Chips, can it happen with other types of chips ?" The answer to that question is yes it can and it has.
So what can you do to help make sure your getting an authentic non "Fixed" chip ? Well that’s a topic all in itself that will be discussed at a later date. However this site is a very good starting point.
Again put together and maintained by David Spragg on the web site, this great link allows people to see a list of all Chips that are known to exist in canceled form.
While there is no substitute to buying from a a reputable Club member, this site will provide you with a list of those chips that are known to exist canceled and lets people know that there is a potential that some of these chips may have been "Fixed".
While not trying to scare off potential collectors with doom and gloom of "Repaired" chips, they do exist in this hobby like they do in all other hobbies and this site does the best job it can in making chippers aware.
Thanks again David as this is a great piece of work. http://ccgtcc.marlowcasinochips.com/cancelled.html
