This is my 19th in a series of posts related to available online resources.
Over the next few weeks I will be focusing on a different resource site each day. Each of these sites has invaluable information to make your collecting experience all it can be.
This site when complete with be simply amazing. It is best described in Roberts own words on the site:
"ChipDB.com is an initiative to provide the most complete database of Casino Chips and Tokens online."
"ChipDB.com provides a powerful search mechanism to allow Chip and Token collectors to quickly find the Chips/Tokens they're looking for."
Robert states that the initial focus will be Nevada Chips and Tokens, but eventually will expand to include Chips and Tokens from all across the country
With over 13,866 chips listed so far this is already VERY impressive. The site allows searches by Casino Name, Chip Rack Number or Key Words and even allows you to choose Chips, Tokens or both. This is a fantastic project and kudos to all who have donated resources to it. http://www.chipdb.com/ Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more Tips of the day coming tomorrow.

Larry has put together a great site that focuses on casinos based in Northern Nevada including lots of great chips from small towns. This site is very easy to use and allows searches by casino, location, and one of my favorites, by theme (Like Hot August nights).
Larry's site also features links to his New Issue Service.
This is a well designed site and has lots of great pictures, what more can I say? http://www.renocasinochips.com/ Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more Tips of the day coming tomorrow.

This is my 23rd in a series of posts related to available online resources.
Over the next few weeks I will be focusing on a different resource site each day. Each of these sites has invaluable information to make your collecting experience all it can be.
Websites featuring casinos outside the US are few and far between. For those of us that collect Foreign material this can get rather frustrating as we have no idea what may be available.
Jason has put together what I believe to be the most comprehensive site of UK casino chips. Although Jason himself will admit the guide is far from complete, it is pretty darn impressive nonetheless. http://www.geocities.com/jdskinner123/ Thru the links on Jason's site you can easily navigate thru the pictures of Chips and Tokens from the UK. There are also scans of other UK casino memorabilia like Matchbooks, Membership Cards and Playing Cards. There are also links to many of the casinos in the UK that can be reached thru Jason's site.
If you enjoy UK chips like I do, then this site is one you don’t want to miss.

Quite possibly the single best resource for new collectors is the Buyers Guides to Casino Collectables that was produced by Sheldon Smith in 2005 & again in 2007.
With the input of experts and collectors from all different fields of collecting this guide covers an amazing amount of material and has an incredible amount of useful information.
If you are a new collector (or even a longtime club member), thee guides are definitely worth the read.
Rather go into the details of each topic in this guide please go take a look for yourself and I am sure you will not be disappointed . http://www.ccgtcc.com/education/2005_buyers_guide.pdf http://www.ccgtcc.com/education/2007_buyers_guide.pdf My hats off to Sheldon and all who contributed to this great project as it is truly an impressive piece of work.

This is my 27th in a series of posts related to available online resources.
Over the next few weeks I will be focusing on a different resource site each day. Each of these sites has invaluable information to make your collecting experience all it can be.
Michael Petty has put together the only site of its kind (At least that I am aware of) that covers the fascinating field of Playing Card Collecting.
Michaels site has been put together as a Blog rather than a database and is an interesting read.
The best part of the site (In my opinion) is however is the pictures. Prior to seeing this Blog I had never considered collecting cards as they held no interest to me. But a quick browse thru the site and you will quickly find why this can easily become appealing to any casino collectable collector.
Keep up the good work Michael as I for one would love to see more or those great cards. http://www.casinoplayingcards.blogspot.com/ Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more Tips of the day coming tomorrow.

Well mark Cotton has done it again. Another amazing piece of work that must have taken an enormous amount of time to compose. I have talked about Marks other sites in previous tips of the day, but this one is new and worth discussing.
How many times has you thought about something you read in a previous issue of the Casino Chip & Token News and just could not remember what issue it was in? If your like me, it happens quite a bit.
Rather than spending 1/2 a day digging thru old magazines searching for what your looking for, this would be the best place to turn. What Mark has don’t is reference every topic that has been written about in the CCTN over the past 9 years and not only tells you what issue it was in, but on what page to look.
What can I say, this is a HUGE timesaver and an incredible resource for anyone looking for information on just about every topic imaginable. One more truly incredible piece of work from the amazing Mark Cotton. http://www.cottonchipper.com/cctnindex.html Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more Tips of the day coming tomorrow.

Many of the topics that I have been discussing and several that I haven't even touched on yet are talked about in a great Blog by Andy Hughes. While this Blog was relatively short lived, the information included within is something that cant be missed.
Covering just about every relative collecting topic, Andy does a great job in discussing what we all have questions about. The read is well worth the time and I highly recommend that every collector both old and new take a look at what Andy has put together.
Great job Andy for this enjoyable Blog http://nevadacasinochips.blogspot.com/ Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more Tips of the day coming tomorrow.
