Chips: 928 | | | Looking for First Collectible I am looking to purchase my first collectible and more specifically, my first Paulson. I have looked around and have been amazed by the beautiful grand inlay chips. I have narrowed my choice down to 2 of the more popular chips. I seem to very much like the 43mm $1000 chips and cannot decide between the Ritz or the PNY. I like both very much, but cannot decide which one to give the honor of first Collectible to. Can you guys help me pick one? On a side note, i really like the $500 ritz, but am not sure if i should get a $1000 first or a $500. All feedback will be appreciated very much from this chip noob. Forgot to mention the Vineyard 8-spot $100 chip as well.
if you think the $1000 PNY secondary is better than the Primary, mention that as well

If you want to collect PNY's 1K's go with the PRI not the SEC. But soon you should get both.
Good luck with you search. My favorite is 1K's Ritz. IMO, it looks better then the PNY's 1K's. |

The $1000 PNYs are nice too, but there are better chips in that set IMO.

Chips: 511 | | | Re: Looking for First Collectible In my humble opinion I would get a chip with some history behind it. I don't know how much the Ritz single chips go for but I can bet that they are expensive, and their are hundreds of them out there.
I would adivse you to purchase a cool casino collectable chip. Even if you are looking to spend less than $20 you can get some sweet chips, like a Binion's horseshoe $25 chip in the Aerodie mold. Not only was it used in the casino as a live action "house" chip, it was later used in the WSOP tournaments after a new house rack was put into play. THAT is a cool chip in my opinion.

Chips: 408 | | | Re: Looking for First Collectible All of the 43mm chips you have mentioned are very nice. I say buy 1 each of the Ritz $1000, PNY $1000, and Vineyard $100 on the same day, then see what one arrives in the mailbox first. Give that chip the honor of your first collectible/Paulson. Once you get any of these chips in your hand, a playable set won't be too far behind . |

My advice if you're interested in beginning a collection is to pick a casino or geographic area or chip denomination or something else special that you like and begin collecting that. Maybe that is 43mm chips. It really should be a personal decision though. Good luck and happy chipping.

Chips: 928 | | | Re: Looking for First Collectible I really appreciate the feedback. I was thinking about a Vineyard 100 too. I think i like the 8-spot edition more than the 4 spot. I am primarily looking to start a collection, as well as have a nice first card capper that i can wow my friends with. It would be pretty awesome to have a $1000 chip in a micro stakes cash game as a card protector as well as a "bet all in device." Is there anyone that can offer me a chip or chips? |

He's kinda like a drug dealer, he gives me a taste, and now im hooked. Imagine how much it's going to end up costing me, and to think it all started out with a free chip. Now i know how drug dealers are so successful. Beautiful chip though is the Ritz $1000, the first of many to come |
