Atlantic City Current Fractionals

Just wondering if any of the AC Casinos are still using $0.25 chips for anything.

Never used them, ever. There was 1 fractioal made for AC and its probably the only one out there. Never really put into play but one got out.

The latest revision of the CCC rules has removed the fractional from the list of approved chips, so there never will be again.

Yup, thats the one. In 1979 the chip was Blue. This rule was changed in 1982 making any 50c chips manufactured to be mustard and moving the blue color to the $10 denominations. In the last few years this rule was changed again to remove the 50c from the list of approved denominations (or at least they were removed from the rules).

Of course now in Atlantic City, they have no need for a fractional as you will be lucky to find a $5 game. Poker, maybe for stud antes, but stud is becoming a dead game.

Maybe they needed the color for a high denom so they can raise the table minimums again.

Actually a small update on the story. At this point there were 4 owners of the 50c. It originally came from the vault at Resorts by a hi-roller who recently passed away. But before that he sold it, and it was sold again, and again. I don't know who the current owner is, but hold your course and it could be yours someday.
