Personally Vineyards never did it for me to any great extent, which is why I sold off the 150 that I had. Of course, it's all personal preference as to what you find attractive.
I guess it also depends on your definition of the word beautiful-- I liked the pictures on the most recent Aladdin chips, and so found them to be attractive chips overall. Probably my favourite logo/inlay design of all time (but rather plain by today's standards) is the 60's-era Desert Inn with the Sun and 18th hole golf flag on eithe side of the Joshua Tree (Think the Ewing mold snapper). To me that just says classic Vegas, which for me is the epitome of chip beauty, at least in terms of inlay designs.
However, generally it is the edge spots that make an attractive chip for me, rather than the inlays. In terms of edge-spot designs, I find the $10 Bellagio poker chip quite attractive. Of course, the 8-V is my favourite edge-spot design. I also like the 2-V of the Aladdin or Bill's Gambling Hall $1s. I also generally like anything with 1/8" edge-spot combinations, such as the 8 equidistant (think Dunes $25 or Hard Rock $5) or 4-sets of two spaced (Taj Mahal $20 or Treasure Island $5)or 4 sets of 3 spaced (The London Club $20 is actually this design, although the middle edge-spot is the same colour as the rest of the chip to make it look like 4 sets of 2). As long as the inlay doesn't detract from the edge-spot designs (which is one reason I prefer smaller inlays), then you have me sold.
Finally, from a personal preference standpoint my least favourite edge-spot design is the 4'V variety with two of the Vs split by another colour-- think the non-8V Vineyard $100 or Dunes $5,000. Again, just personal preference, but never really done much for me.
