I was at Motor City Casino here in Detroit tonight picking up some .25 chips to finish up my rack and noticed a difference in one of them. After I stepped away from the counter I noticed it was the variation chip. The chip is the same color as the current .25 chip except with 2 orange edge spots and a slightly different inlay. Chip Guide says it was only in play for 3 weeks in March 2000 so this seems like a very very lucky find to pick one up. If anyone else has more info on this chip let me know. Im sure not many collectors have this as it wasn't around very long and it's the first one Ive ever seen in the casino. Ive added a picture of the chip from Chip Guide.

Anyway, nice find! I gotta get down there and pick up a rack or two of those fractionals one of these days.

I know what you mean with the waitress there, they are not very good looking.

I went yesterday and when I was buying some chips of the Baccarat dealer I noticed one of the variation chips sitting on the table and asked if I could get that one and he wouldn't sell it to my disappointment. I was able to score 52 chips on the trip though. I finished up my 1st rack and I am about half way done with my 2nd. As soon as I get done with my 200 for my Cash Set I will start getting some to trade on here.
