Hi erevybody!

I live in Europe and I'm going to vegas in April.
I really would like to get a home CG set of real casino chips, with 1, 5 and fractionals chips.
So, I have few question about this:
- IS it difficult to get some chips in the casinos? do I have to go to the cage? Are they usually accept?
- How can i get chips in mint conditions? can i ask or it? is there a special day?
- Where can i find fractionnals like 25c and 50c chips? Do every casino have some?

Hi Eric -

Well let me be the first to say good luck. The $1's should be easy enuf to get your hands on... Just go to the cage and ask for a rack or two of $1 chips in "new" condition, not all casino's have them but it wouldn't hurt to ask. You may want to try "Bill's Gambling Hall" as they just recently reopened on the Stripe and have very nice new $1 house chips. Be sure to tip the person at the cage for their trouble. I would say $10 per rack you purchase.

Also with the fractionals I know that 4 queens just came out with their $.25 chips for this year but they are the lighter Bud Jones chips that I would avoid playing with, but they will do in a pinch. They will be tough to get in quantity so you may have to vist multiple times to get as many chips as you are looking for. All in all, the $1's shouldn't be too hard to get out of a casino, and $5's will be very easy... The $.25 or $.50 will be tougher because the casino's generally tend to keep an eye on them because they are so expensive.

I will try to help you with your questions... Here goes.

• Some casinos are more than willing to let you 'buy' chips from the cage. You may have to send the cashier a 'toke' for his/her efforts. With that being said some casinos arent as friendly with there chips. So have a few casinos in mind, you may have to vist a few to get what you want.
• Again you will have to ask the cashier. The cage may have some and may not. Again 'tips' go a long way. From what I have heard from other members here the best time to go is in the middle of the night when the floor is slower.
• Fracitonals are going to be the hardest to come by in any quainity. Most if not all casinos in vegas dont use frac's on the floor. They use coins. If you find a casino with frac's its going to be tough to get your hands on several racks to complete or start your set.

For taking $5 you realize you will be paying $5 per chip for them. You are much better off getting any other type of Paulson chip from a retailer or a Member to Member sale.

Not alot of Vegas casinos have $.25 chips. Look for casinos that spread 7-stud $1-$5 with a $.25 ante.

Thank you very much, I don't wan to buy a lot of 5$ chips, just about 10.
I understand that getting frac's will be very difficult...

One other thing... Go to the cage at night time or very early morning when they are not busy, that way they will have more time to help you out. Be super nice to the folks working to, that never hurts.
