Ok so this is the first edit. Pics to follow but may be 24 hours away. This may be detail overkill but you asked for it Jamby!
Set #1 - Casino Sadash. 100x$5, 200x$10, 200x$20, 100x$50. I purchased these on eBay in 2001. I love the Bud Jones CIC chips and I picked up this 600 piece set before the poker boom for $400. I purchased these over all the Paulson chips that were sold in the Paulson store because I was a huge Bud Jones fan. I never played with them because I bought them while I was living in Atlanta, and all my home town poker buddies were up here in Washington. I later sold them for $1200. That is the only set I will post that I no longer have because I sorta regret selling them. Before I am done with aquiring chips, a set of BJ CIC chips will be mine again!
Set #2 - The set I will never part with. This set is comprised of entirely live $1 and $5 chips from all across the USA. Each chip is entirely unique to the set. There are over 400 $1's (because the '600 chip' chest actually holds 44 chips per row in the removeable tray). There are 175 $5 chips, some of which are worth much more than $5. I have 20 $25 chips 8 are live chips and the rest are obsolete, and 5 $100 chips all of which are obsolete.
This set means the most to me because each chip was collected individually. It all started 3 years ago when I thought to myself "wouldn't it be cool to have a set of chips made up entirely of differnt casino chips?" Little did I know what I was getting myself into. I joined the CCGTCC and then started playing in "The Chip Board Road to the World Series of Poker." I have faired pretty well in those tournaments and each time I cashed and had to send money to Andy at nevadacasinochips.com for the WSOP entry I would send some extra money and buy several chips from him as well. That is where most of the $5 chips in the collection came from.
I have never played with them, but I think I will just one time. I will invite my family over and have a friendly game as they are the one's that have had to put up with me while aquiring these chips.
Set #3 - Mardi Gras Queens. I don't know anything about these chips other than the fact that curse was selling Chipco's (at least the $1's and $5's) for $.30 each. To me that is a steal and I bought 800 of them. 500 $1's, 250 $5's, 45 $25's and 5 100's. I know they came from a "Cruise to Nowhere" but I don't know about the dates it sailed or why it was shut down. This set is my Cash Set of Ceramics.
Set #4 - New Sonny's Casino. This set was also an eBay purchase. But one I am a little embarrased to share. After I had won one of thechipboard.com RTTWSOP tournaments,(which I had been drinking while playing), I thought it would be a good idea to reward myself for the win. So in that state of mind it made perfect sense to bid on this set of chips. The auction was for 600 chips 500 $1's and 100 $5's... I paid $600 for them. The thing that really drew me to them (other than the fact I was pretty hammered) was that they were from a casino here in Washington State. Federal Way in fact. I remember seeing the casino when it was open but that was before I really played Poker and was "of age" so I never saw the inside of the joint. But I am glad I picked these chips up. Since the initial purchase I have added 100 $.50'ers from the Railroad Pass in Vegas as well as 20 $25 chips that round out the set nicely for a total of 720 chips. This number is nice as that is exactly the number of chips that will fit into the wooden case pictured that my Grandfater built who knows how many years ago (he died in '94) to house his old plastic chips. I really like these chips and love the case. I may at some point part with the chips (only for something better) but the case will always be with me and hopefully someday with my son. This is my Paulson (clay) cash game set.
Set #5 - Lucky Ticket Casino. These chips are friggin' sweet! 300 $5's, 150 25's & 50 $100's. They are Chipco's from another closed casino here in Washington State. This time the casino was located in Eastern Washington, Spokane to be exact. The chips have "Lucky Ticket Casino" on one side and "Season Ticket Bar and Grill" on the other side. If I had custom Chipco's made they would probably look alot like this... It doesn't get any better than Cards, Beer and Sports does it? Maybe if you throw in a little hottie but I think if they threw a pic of a hot chick in the mix it would have made the chip too busy. But hey 3 outa 4 ain't bad. I got these chips very recently... thanks to Galwaylad7 for everything! Anyway these are my micro limit cash set. everything plays at 1/100th of face value.
Set #6 - ***EDIT*** Set number six has just become a set of Bud Jones CIC's that I love so much. There are 300 of them. 100 $5's, 100 $25's, 50 $100's and 50 $500's. Check them out here:
