Re: .25 and/or .50 chips in mississipi

Most casinos are just goin to use coins for chips under a dollar. I don't know what the Mississippi ones do, but I know at Luxor, anything under a dollar was done in quarters and half dollars.

Here is a pretty good resource: http://www.chipguide.com/cgi-bin/sea...gi?id=mississi

That site belongs to CC&GTCC Hall of Famer Greg Susong. Greg is also the owner/webmaster for thechipboard and he especially like to collect Riverboat chips (and Tribal Gaming issues). Towards that end he maintains a respectible database of current and past chip issues of many casinos, including those hit by Katrina.

Here is a link to his Mississippi pages. As long as you know the name of the casino, just click the appropriate link and you should be able to find what you are looking for.

They were using change at the Blackjack tables at Sam's Town in August. Didn't see any .25 or .50 chips.

Re: .25 and/or .50 chips in mississipi

Chipguide (a terrific resource, thanks to Greg Susong) will show all chips ever on the tables, so check carefully if they're still in use.

Even before Katrina, I didn't see any more fractional chips, but there might've been some 50¢ at a smaller place or two. And I haven't seen any at the reopened places.

Re: .25 and/or .50 chips in mississipi

Many of the casinos in the bay area of Mississippi had fractionals at one point but over time they have gotten rid of them. You may find a couple in Mississippi, and you may even ask at the cage, but they will be few and far between.

Yeah, it took 2 of us 4 shifts over 2 days to get 120 great Paulson 50¢ chips from Treasure Chest in New Orleans before the storm. They finally threw us out of the place. But what a find! They might be gone now, though.
