In my opinion, not a one is exceptional in any way. As far as value... You must keep in mind that New Jersey Gaming has a regulation in effect that stipulates that any and all, cash-value chips, will always be redeemable, at face value, for the life of New Jersey Gaming. This is very unlike most gaming jurisdictions around the World.
If a casino closes and is re-opened under a different name, by the same owners (which is supposed to be the case for the Sands) the old chips can always be turned in to the cage for face value. It should be noted the if you have either of the two earlier $25 chips from the Sands, you deffinately DO NOT want to turn them in at the cage, as they have value greater than face!!!!
It would not be likely for this to happen with the current $25, or any of these chips shown, as the news is out... the place will be closing. However, of these chips, it will be the $1K and $500 to show any value. This is because, generally speaking, there are fewer of these chips in existence. New Jersey Gaming requires and monitors destruction of discontinued chips. This means that the population of these denominations are guaranteed to be reduced in the short term.
How much they will increase in value is hard to say, but as it stands now, there are very, very, (did I say VERY?) few collectors out there that collect these denominations at face value!
I hope this helps answer your questions. Archie Black's wonderful website is located here:
