Not sure how much interest there is in Florida chips, but I like them and was seeking a chip guide that would help me to better understand and value them. In an effort to do that I purchased the FGCCT - "A Guide to Florida's Gaming Chips, Checks and Tokens". I've only given it a quick perusal so far. A problem with it is that it's outdated as it's a 1st edition and apparently has not been revised since 1996. It also doesn't include value estimates, which is probably OK since they'd be so outdated anyway.

It includes Florida gaming history and some cruise ship and Indian casinos. I like how it's laid out though and the pictures and short stories/descriptions are great. The front cover scan below was borrowed from chipguide.com.

That's nice info, Jim. Thank you. It's a really decent book. I'm constantly amazed at how small and tight the chipper community is though as I was surprised to see credit given to Archie Black in the FGCCT. I know that Archie is a Puerto Rico and Atlantic City collector extraordinaire, but had no idea that his interest and hobby extended into Florida.

I modified the thread title here so that perhaps we could discuss other chip guides as well.

I've just purchased the "The Modern History of Gambling in Atlantic City Chip Guide and Chip Checklist" by Stephen Piccolo. It looks like a decent book although it is older as so many are - 1998 in this case. It includes chips as well as casino history. I will post more once it's received. These are photos from the seller.
