A disassembled Bud Jones coin-in-center inlay chip
Thought you all might find it interesting to view a disassembled BJ CIC chip. This is a Dorado Beach casino chip that is well-used and literally came undone when I picked it up for the first time upon receipt. It doesn't fasten back together either. I never realized that the 'coin' was comprised of two halves.

Jamby,
Excellent, I sent a PM!
I was trying to convince one of the TCR authors of this "ring" concept and your scan nails it. Pictured here is a graphic I did two years ago to show the ring.
Good post, and I'm sure the chip fell apart in your hands. On mine, where there was poor fusing, the two CIC's just fell out as well.

I guess it's also important to point-out that not all Bud Joines coin-in-center (CIC) chips are made this same way. Some are made with the CIC's being welded together and the entire chip is then molded around the CICs (Frontier CICs are a good example).

Jim,
Here's the scan of the reverse sides of all the pieces. I believe this is what you've requested, but it doesn't appear to be much help in figuring out the assembly of the Colorado Belle chip that you have posted a scan of.
It appears to me that both sides of the plastic encasement are identical. The ring is a very thin and flimsy piece of plastic. The two coin halves are the only thing that are different from side to side. Note the slight indentation mark in the center of each in the above scan.
