Chips: 10,505 | | | Re: A disassembled Bud Jones coin-in-center inlay chip Well guess what!!! That Dorado Beach chip, upon closer examination, looks to be like the Frontier type of Bud Jones chips and not the Colorado Belle!!!
With the CICs flipped over, I can see the center weld spot where they are normally welded together. Tell me, please, if you put the two CICs back-to-back, does the white ring fit around them? And then, would that assembled unit fit into the center of the chip?
Sorry to bother.

Chips: 835 | | | Re: A disassembled Bud Jones coin-in-center inlay chip Not a bother at all, Jim. Yes the ring fits around the two pieces, but no that piece doesn't then fit into the center of the chip. You have to put a coin half on eac side and press together in order to make the chip appear assembled. It all then falls apart though as soon as you cease pressing the pieces together.
Hope this helps.

Chips: 450 | | | Re: A disassembled Bud Jones coin-in-center inlay chip I have a BJ CIC chip that has the Silver Slipper CIC on one side and a Castaways CIC on the other. I originally bought it because I thought it was an error but was later told that it would be very easy to manufature using one of each chip. My bubble was busted but it is still a pretty cool chip IMO. The pics below are from silverstatetreasures.com and only show the inlays of the chip I have. I am at work right now so I don't know which outer ring was used to produce my chip.
Take Care,

Chips: 835 | | | Re: A disassembled Bud Jones coin-in-center inlay chip Such a shame that a beautiful El Tropical BJ chip was destroyed. Thanks for posting, Roland. Very interesting how these BJ chips are constructed. Quote: |

I wonder if the inlay piece is already in then mold when they do that, or if it is applied after. |

Chips: 188 | | | Re: A disassembled Bud Jones coin-in-center inlay chip I just discovered this thread today! I thought I'd post a link to a description that I wrote awhile ago - after taking apart a BJ Mullet Bay to compare against another BJ chip - I wanted to verify that the ebay Mullets were the real thing, and they are (not the fake $1s, of course). My detailed description is in this URL: http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/poker-...tml#post349166 Quote: |

I never realized that the 'coin' was comprised of two halves.
