What are the symptoms?

I came to this site just trying to get info, ideas, and suggestions for a set of custom chips. Exactly what are the symptoms of becoming a chipper(sp?)? Feel free to correct me if that is not the correct term for a chip collector.

Symptoms I am showing already...
1. Rummaging around the house trying to find all the chips I have collected from casinos over the past 12 years.
2. In the past 3 days have bought 2 sample sets of chips.
3. Want to get my hands on a set of the Star Trek chips for my girlfriend who is a Trekkie and is really getting in to playing poker.

Re: What are the symptoms?

You are well on your way!

Also you will be expieriencing what I call "Inverse Casino Cheque Loop".

In a casino your chips mean money. To a chipper your money equals chips!

Another sign would come from when you are playing poker. And you think to yourself.

I could just keep all these and use them at home!

I'd tell you to seek help, but I want to show you my collection.

Re: What are the symptoms?

The symptoms are many and vary by victim, but it appears you are all ready too far gone to save.

I think the last one is really a truly bad sign: when you start buying chips for other people even though they don't really care about chips the way you do! It's as if you are just making an excuse: I'm not buying these chips for ME, nooo, it's a PRESENT for someone else. Nice rationalization. (And I know because I did the same darn thing!)

Well you never bought me a gift! Now THAT is a sign of the sickness.

I picked up Hooter's chip for a guy I work with, because he races and is sponsored by them. Like, he cared...

Well, I did refer a guy on 2+2 looking for mother of pearl plaques over to you! And you've got the blondewidow -- you don't need any more gifts!

Touche!

Just cause your smarter and prettier than I, doesn't make you right.

Well you're right now. But right now, I'm sure I'm not right. Right?

Sice youve come into direct contact with the CT website- it's clear youve been exposed as evidenced by your symptoms.
The disease IS highly contageous.
The good news is: youre only showing mild symptoms right now
The bad news is: it will get progressively worse..
The good news is: your girlfriend has also been exposed
The bad news is: your spending will increase directly proportional to the
development of your symptoms TIMES TWO

Drink plenty of fluids, get plenty of rest ( with laptop in bed so you can keep abreast of the latest developments here)

Live long and Prosper

Re: What are the symptoms?

Guma,

You're pretty much screwed.
I came here with a vague dissatisfaction with my dice chips, and here I stayed.
