Chips: 10,807 | | | Re: Casino's getting new chips or shutting down... Confirmed closure (but with a re-open date) is the Lady Luck. It would not be unreasonable to re-open with a new rack of chips. So get what they have now. Closure is at the end of the year.
Same thing with the Stardust.
The Tropicana is always on the brink of closure and demo!!!
Flamingo, Laughlin is sold and will likely be getting new chips, if you want to go down there.
Since Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo and Circus Circus are now owned by MGM/Mirage, they might suddenly change their racks, as have Excalibur and Luxor. (The same can be true for Gold Strike and Nevada Landing in Jean.)

Word is the Stardust plans a major re-model, just as the Lady Luck is. However, their re-model may be more Earth-shaking, if you know what I mean?...

Jim (Gaming Ore) Follis | After I posted I checked the casino Death Watch site and it states that the Stardust is to be mucked after this year...

Chips: 908 | | | Re: Casino's getting new chips or shutting down... I just read somewhere today that they are considering taking down Circus Circus. I'll have to try to find that article. If I do, I'll add the link.
Tropicana just got a new bunch of chips. Upon closer examination, we noticed that the shaped inlays are fakes. We thought maybe it was good sign for them to have new chips, but it could just be that they took a while to show up. It's fairly certain now that at least part of the place is coming down. |
