Chips: 2,044 | | | any truth to new Bellagio chips? ive heard it mentioned here that people keep hearing from their dealer friends at Bellagio that their chip rack is going to be replaced. does this mean we will see a white $1 bellagio chip, along the lines of the new chips MGM has issued for the Excalibur and Luxor? i certainly hope not. but if they do decide to change their chips, i will be first in line to buy a couple racks of brand new $1s.
edit: could they possibly be moving to RFID? |

Not likely a $5 either. Typically $25 and up. |

Nope I'm wrong...only $25 and up. I was playing the $25 tables there and couldn't remember the $5's. No dot on them...I lost money at the Wynn, about the only place that happened last trip , I bought them a $650 doorknob I guess.

The RFID is not visible as it is inside the ***edit***cheque (I previously used the term 'chip' which could be confused as a 'microchip')***end edit***. The dot (I think it's proper name is 'microdot' but can not remember for sure) is just another security measure, but they are not mutually inclusive. The Microdot when magnified usually has "PAULSON" or some other word written repetitively in tiny letters but it just looks like a dot to us.
Take Care,
Couga

Take Care,
Couga | Looked like a little waffle to me-so I assumed a chip, why a chip and RFID? I thought they were one in the same, you learn something new everyday.

Chips: 3,406 | | | Re: any truth to new Bellagio chips? Some RFID Tags look like a small computer chip (kinda) on the surface of the chip (See Harvey's Lake Take $100 chips). Other chips have them embedded in the chip where they can't be seen.
The "dot" on the Wynn chips is in fact their RFID tag. They are used on the 25's and up. Nothing lower.
Remember the cost of an RFID tag for a chip is about a dollar or so per chip, however the price of RFID tags and the technology itself is coming down and continues to be more cost effective, although still not cost effective enough to put in a chip less than $25. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
