Chips: 10,807 | | | I wonder what happened to the person who made this choice... Look at these two differently denominated chips from the Lady Luck, Las Vegas.
Can you imagine the confusion presented to the security cameras? How about the dealers?
Needless to say, the $7.50 chip was pulled and placed into "redemption" fairly quickly! I just wonder about what happened to the genius that approved these, or why the Bud Jones salesman didn't say something.
Go figure?

According to The Chip Rack, 10th Edition (a Nevada only chip guide) there are 6 $7.50 issued chips. The idea behind them is to pay off a $5 blackjack bet in one motion. Of course the $2.50 was designed to do the same thing, but it required plucking a $5 and a $2.50 from the tray, which is two actions. And in a casino, time is money!
As an interesting side note, in some circles the $2.50 is referred to as a "snapper" because of the action of plucking (or snapping) it and a $5 out of the tray to pay off the blackjack bet. Even though the same action was used to pluck the $5, the name only applied to the $2.50 because fives were alraedy called "red-birds".
