Chips: 29,466 | | | CaptLego's latest haul from Vegas: Downtown, Green Valley, Red Rock Just got back with these latest additions to the collection:
From Downtown:
California: A blue hot-stamped $1
Las Vegas Club not too crazy about these, myself)
Fremont: Who's that guy pictured on the chip on the right? Here's a picture of the other side of that chip:
Binion's: I think that's my first $4 chip. If these chips could only talk...
"I remember when Doyle was a low-stakes player"... OK, I know these chips are not that old --- but it's fun to think about.
It was really cool to see the Wall of Champions there.
The best part of the experience, though, was dinner at their Steak House. That's a restaurant on their 24th floor. I've had a lot of great steaks in my day, but that Steak Diane (cooked medium-rare to perfection) was probably the best steak I've had in my entire life. A little pricey, but worth it. Highly recommended!
Golden Gate: They said they couldn't sell me any $1 chips. Here's a picture of the reverse side of the chip on the right, above:
Four Queens: Here's a picture of the reverse side of those three lower chips:
The best thing about my Four Queens visit is that I managed to win Silver Strikes of all four Queens! I'll post pictures of those separately, later.
Beyond Downtown:
I picked these up at Hooters. No luck on calendar chips for me, though.
And BTW, if you care at all about either good food or good service -- avoid the restaurant at Hooters.
Green Valley Ranch: I didn't see either a Green Valley, or a Ranch. I don't think I have any reason to go back there.
I picked these up on opening day of the new Red Rock Casino. That $100 chip is the most expensive chip I've ever bought. But I figure I can always get back what I paid for it, if I want.

To be perfectly honest, I've only played poker in a casino on two occasions, and I never won a single pot. I figure I'm better off just buying the chips and leaving with them.
I played the slot machines a bit.... I prefer to play the Silver Strike machines, as I've got a pretty nice Silver Strike collection started.
Otherwise --- a nice show (saw LaReve this trip), a good meal (see my comments about Binion's Steak House above), a haul of poker chips, and I'm a happy camper.

I know it is chiptalk.... but still. Hey you don't have any traders of Bellagio Holes 1,2 or 3 do you? That is a nice set and I don't want to get too far behind. So far my collection of SS is pretty small but I have both sets of Palms Chirstmas strikes as well as the Palms Halloween strikes. Then I have a few odds and ends as well. What do you got?
Sorry not trying to hijack or anything.
Take Care,
Couga |

Take Care,
Couga | I just counted 111 silver strikes. (Not a huge collection, but it is growing...)
Of those, 7 are Bellagio. (2 that look like a garden/gazebo, 2 Andy Warhol, Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art, Shadow Creek, and the last one looks like a Mill). Nothing that looks like Holes 1, 2, or 3 to me.
[EDIT: Upon further review... that Shadow Creek SS from Bellagio says "Hole Number 1" on it! (It's par four, 401 yards. ]
But here's the score from the Four Queens on this trip:
