HorseShoe Chip Question

Hello All, this is my first post. I Collect a few Binion's Chips and saw this auction the other day. Anyone know the story behind this Chip?
Thanks all

I can't believe I just found this site.

That chip is rated an R-9 in Campiglia & Wells price guide, which means its super rare. The price guide lists only 7 known chips of this kind and lists the price of the chip at $2k in avg condition and $4k in new condition. As long as the chip is real and the seller is legit, whoever got a great bargin. The chip looks awesome. Love the arodie mold chips!

Oh yeah..and welcome to Chiptalk!!

Re: HorseShoe Chip Question

The Main Reason Why I posted this is also because I have one of these chips in MINT Condition. Lucky E-bay buy a while back on a strange listing. Now the Question is this: Is Mine Real? I will get a better scan later and post it.
Thanks All

Re: HorseShoe Chip Question

Before you run out and spend your new found $$$$. My money is on the table that what you have is not what you think it is. There are way to many experienced collectors working ebay to let something like that slip by. Post a pic.

This chip was very rare for a LONG time. There were 3-4 known (3 in mint, 1 used). Since the shoe closed, they have come out in a larger quantity but seemed to be making its way to the collectors market very slowly. If I were a conspiracy theorist, I would bet that a couple people have them and they are slowing going onto Ebay one at a time. So they are still commanding a $400+ range for them as the auction shows ($450 with reserve not met). They will come down in price and become fairly common - maybe not as common as the $5 from the same series but will be easy to get.

Now that $5K in your avatar... that's a whole other story.

Re: HorseShoe Chip Question

Same guy just listed another one of the same chips. 3 on E-bay lately makes me believe the conspiracy theory. The question is now this. Should I dump it and buy it back later cheaper?
