I can't wait to grab some when I'm out in Vegas.
That mold is nicely defined.
Those would look great stacked up in front of me on the table.
I'd love to see a bunch of those in a pot!
...I'll stop now.

I just picked up some of those chips a couple days ago at Hooters. I got a $1, $5, and a $25. I'll add a pic of the $25 here when I get home.
I was disappointed that they were all sold out of their special chips -- the calendar chips? With the Hooters girls on them.
The casino was kinda nice -- open and light. We made a big mistake, though, by eating in their restaurant. While the scenery was nice, the service was horrible. It took forever to order, and for the food to come. My wife just ordered a hotdog. When it arrived, it was cold so she sent it back. When it arrived the next time, it was still cold. So back it went again, this time to the manager.
At least she got what she ordered -- they didn't even get my order right. On balance, it was a very negative experience. I'd suggest avoiding their restaurant.

Chips: 14,010 | | | Re: Hooters Chips (PICS) They were sold out of the calendar chips on opening day! A friend of mine was there with her hubby for the VIP party and got me some chips. She tried to get some of the calendar chips but they were gone and all that was left was the regular racks(pun intended). Her opinion of the place is that it caters to the hooters crowd, so if you go into it with that expectation, you won't be disappointed.
Supposedly there will be a new calendar girl chip each month on the $5 to represent the hooters calendar girls.

With the Hooters girls on them. | The Calandar girl chips are easy to find, however locals are snatching them up as soon as they are released in the largest quantity that the casino will allow. The reason being that the $5 chips are going for between $40 and $70 on ebay. The $25 chips are going for about $65 on eBay. These are one of those chips that collectors across multiple areas of interset are drawn to. IE chip collectors are interested in the chips and Hooters fans are intereset in the Hooters connection. Also some people just want a chip with a pretty girl on it.
The chips are "Limited Editions" and the $5 chips were produced in a 1000 chip quantity. This is a realtively average LE run for Vegas. Most chips in this quantity sell for about $7 to $10. The $25 chips were limited to 250 if my memory serves properly. It is my guess (and hope) that these chips will return to what I deem a resonable value in the future ($10 to $15 each) as the novelty wares off. On the other hand they could go up in value, it is just too tough to tell at this point.
Take Care-
Couga
PS - There are rumors of a series of $10 chips being issued as well. However at this point, none have left the casino. |

There is some controversy surrounding the release practices for these chips. A contention has been made that the chips are made available to employees beforehand. I do not necessarily believe that, however, I have not heard statements to the contrary from the New Chip Release services dealers in Las Vegas.
Many of these limited to 1,000 chips are on eBay and the standard rate for the $5 is $40 - $50.
I have none of the calendar girl chips in my collection, but I believe that in 5 or even 10 years from now, they will still be available in the same, uncirculated condition and probably no higher than what they are now, or perhaps less.
Just my opinion.

Jim (Gaming Ore) Follis | I think you are right on the munny Jim. Seems overpriced and once the hard core Hooter's collectors have their chips, the price will drop. It's funny, we'll see if the Casino is still around in 5-10 years LOL! They do look cool, though! | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
