Congratulations BigKyle on an excellent first step to your chip collection. Expensive is definitely not where it's at as far as I'm concerned. I buy chips that I find appealing and that's the bottom line. You might want to check out thechipboard.com on a semi-regular basis. You'll often find chip lots for sale there at very reasonable prices. I acquired quite a few of my starting chips that way. Many of those have now become my 'traders', but it was a great way to get familiarized with the hobby.
Thanks, Jamby. I have always liked the Sahara chip and I thought the BMG Venetian was unique and interesting. I am a big football fan so I got the Thurman Thomas chip, and the 9/11 commemoratives are gorgeous. I would like to get one of the 43mm Palms Playboy chips with the hologram inlay. That's one I may save up for. I will check out the chipboard, too. I have peeked around there but not much. You have quite a nice collection by the way.
I've seen the Palms Playboy chips and they are very nice. You should definitely search them out. Some of the older Sahara chips are worth hunting for too since you are a fan of this one. There are some beauties in the Sahara's history. Thank you for the compliment, by the way, it's such fun building a collection.
Happy chipping,
jamby
