Chips: 9,392 | | | Playable Casino Sets Of the actual casino chip available in playable sets, what are your favorites and why?
For me, in descending order:
Dunes: Pros Shaped inlays, LV Strip property with a great history. Cons boring inlay design, relatively common (although still very expensive).
Condado Beach (?spelling): Pros shaped inlay, H&C mold, Simple, classic inlay. maybe the best looking of all these chips IMO. Cons I can't find any chips to buy.
Palmas: Pros very rare, HH mold. Cons because they're ASM and not paulson, they seem to be less in demand.
Vineyard, Crystal Park, New Yorkers: All very nice, but IMO not as nice as the above. Probably because they all are much more modern looking and don't have the "classic" look of the above. I don't have a real preference between them.

I love these chips and wish I could get more in addition to the samples I found. I like them better than the Dunes because of the mold -- classic TH&C with concentric circles.
The Palmas are fantastic chips, too. Very high quality, based on my samples. |

FWIW, I would pay top $$ for a sample set, and would have to consider major $$ for a playable set.

To me, the thing that makes the Dunes nicer is the history of the Dunes Casino, on the LV Strip, etc. Otherwise, I would have to give the nod to the Condados.
That pic is really getting to me Tomb - I need to get at least a few.

Interesting question so I'll answer in a different way.
Playable sets based upon current prices:
President New Yorker @ $1.25 each
Palmas Club Casino @ $2 to $2.50 each
Dunes used @ $3 each
Vineyard Casino @ $1 to $10 each
Dunes Mint @ $4 to $5 each
As far as a favorite, how does one choose between a great Paulson chip and a great ASM chip like the Palmas... But there are only 2 that you can get that are completely playable with denominations from $5 to $500 and that's the President New Yorker and the Palmas Club Casino. |

Oh, and these Ambassador chips that Nevada Jacks "liberated" from Puerto Rico are pretty darn nice, too. But they ain't cheap. |
