Chips: 1,775 | | | Re: My little collection is slowly growing... To be honest, I don't really think so. The calgary chip is very worn, the Cosmopol has a few dings in it and the century chip has edges that looks like a sore loser has used it (thrown in the floor).
But I like them.
If anyone knows anything about these (except the Cosmopol, I know about that one), please, feel free to speak up. |

If you want to see wear and tear, you should see some of the Ceaser's I picked up after they had been in play for about five years or so - worn down to practically nothing.

Yeah, I was basically comparing these to brand new chips bought from HPC, for example. I guess I'm a bit too anal.
BTW, the Calgary looks like a chipco, but feels incredibly smooth. Is this how chipco's age? And does anyone have any idea what the blue chip is, and where it's from? I haven't found anything about it. |

Chips: 1,052 | | | Re: My little collection is slowly growing... Borrowed from thechipboard.com FAQ: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SURFACE FINISHES ON CHIPCO CHIPS? | Linen
Surface is covered with a grid of tiny little bumps. | | Recessed
The opposite of linen. The surface is covered with a grid of tiny little indentions. | | Satin
The surface feels smooth to the touch and is covered with a very slight mottled texture. This texture allows for much greater detail in the artwork. | | No Image Available | Slick
The surface is smooth, like glass. |

Here is a link to their website: http://www.cnty.com/
The chip shown is RTP and is probably used on their ships. There is a $1 and $5 also of this design.
Do you have a trader?

I think the symbol's just a fancy letter C, for Cosmopol. Could be wrong though, it's kind of a habit with me.
Ore,
I was hoping you'd show up in this thread.
No, sorry, this is my only chip. I'll keep an eye out for you though, and thanks for the info.
About Jamby's info... if you click the thumb of the Calgary, and then click the pic again, it looks linen..ehm...-y.
On the rolling edge, the chip says: Casino Calgary $1. |
