Daniel, et. al.,
The SilverPoint.com link is excellent. It is a BBS (Message Board) for the Silver Strikers Collector Club. Their website is:
http://www.silverstrikers.com/
They are an independent collector club of about 600 people (Nation-wide, and few overseas) that specialize in collecting Silver Strikes. Many of their members also belong to the Casino Chip and Gaming Token Collectors Club, Inc., however, they are a separate organization, and a fine one at that.
In answer to your question, Silver Strikes from a .25 cent machine (in Nevada) are $10 gaming tokens and are redeemable at the cage for $10. However, even common strikes tend to have a value of $13 - $15 IN PERFECT CONDITION.
Some $10 strikes have an even greater value. Feel free to post a question, asking for value, on the StikePoint.com, as many collectors there will be happy to help you out.
All Silver Strikes are part of a promotional slot machine program of IGT. Present day strikes are available in the $10 and $200 denomination, and $40 strikes are being re-introduced. They will be dispensed from dollar machines. Casinos that have a $200 strike will have a program to trade 20 $10 strikes for the $200. All $200 trikes IN PERFECT CONDITION tend to have a value of at least $250 and up.
