Hi Rob, I'm glad you like the chips...my favorite of the bunch is the Mirage.

The Atlantis chip is from the Bahamas, so you still dont have any from AC. LOL. However, the next time I'm in AC I'll make sure to get you some chips.

Re: These just came in the post...

You can tell an AC Paulson chip from the mold; has the denomination embossed right in it.

I love that Mirage chip. The only problem is the text in the house mold is WAY too close* to the edge, imo. I'm sort of glad, actually, or I'd end up spending a fortune (and almost certainly at a loss) trying to trade my 600 Palms $1s for new Mirage $1s.

* By "too close", I mean they'll be susceptible to getting knicks under normal play conditions, similar to the "Paulson Chips" and RHC molds. In fact, from that pic, it looks like the text is << 1 mm from the edge (closest to the right edge). For what I'm talking about, see the Casino Rama chip pictured above.

I wonder if GPI/Paulson does this on purpose; sort of a "wear line" to indicate when it's time to swap out old chips. But in the process, it makes the chips appear to wear faster... sort of like how the North American car industry builds vehicles that self-destructs the day after the warranty expires so you have to get a new one every 5 years.

I don't think that Viejas chip counts as "minty fresh" any more...more like "well sucked extra strong mint!" How long does it take for a chip to get like that?

A few years I guess...actually that's quite a heavy spot progression for a $1...if you know what I mean?

I bet they look nice new & in stacks
