try the poker room first (if the casino has one) before them main cage because it is more common for someone to buy chips by the rack in the poker room than anywhere else.
-MGM chips are sweet
-BIlls Gamblin Hall is a pretty new casino so the chips should still be in decent condition
-Bellagios are nice but the dark blue base color gets all over the white edgespots
-If you want Bud Jones, try the treasure island poker room (i have a rack of these myself) or the LAs Vegas Hilton
yes, you should tip the cage attendant $1 any time they take the time to help you. I always tip the cage attendant $1 after a winning session or after they've gathered some nice condition chips for me.
I'd tip a little bit more, but that's personal preference.
I always carry a folded-up plastic bag in my pocket to hold rack(s) of chips going out the door. I suppose you could use a grocery bag, but I like the heavier bags you can't see through -- from retail stores like Office Depot or something like that. But use a backpack, big purse, whatever....
My avatar is my rack of $1 from my home game set. A friend of mine offered to get me a rack from any casino in vegas I wanted. I diliberated and got input from trusted chipper friends. The Luxor current house rack was actually my second choice. My first choice was the TI poker room rack, but when my buddy talked to people there they would not sell him a rack. Also, I am putting together a rack of firsrt edition Luxors, and it would be cool to have both. My top five are probably
1. Palms
2. TI
3. Luxor
4. Hooters
5. Sahara
I could not use the Palms in my home set because my .25 cent chips are light blue.
