These are my newest pride and joy...Finally got a set without being outsniped....

Now, I can't remember, but were these chips used in the 2003 WSOP or was it a different time frame?

Also, the $5 chip was obviously not used in the ME so I'm wondering how it fits into the set.

Finally, as I watch the re runs on ESPN, I notice that there is a Bud Jones chip in play with a black inlay along with the green $25 and black $100's. WTF?

Why would they mix chips like this? The $500 is clay, then I'm thinking that the $1,000 chip was the Jones chip, then we see the $5,000 chip which is again a Paulson clay.

This is really odd.

Very cool chips. The $5 was used in some of the other games (I think Stud) where an ante is required from each player from hand 1.

Couga is correct. The $5 chip was for stud games.
Noel, you are also correct. They did mix chips for a couple years.

Now you just have to get in the long line of people who are looking for the solid white $1 chip and the quarter pie $1000.

I think Id like to play a tourny where they had mixed chips. Get to pick what chips you shuffle and can switch it up.

Very nice chips. These are quite possibly my favourite chips, and one day I will have a sample set as well. Unfortunately auctions for them are ususally limited to USA, which puts me out of contention, and means I can't snipe anyone.

Heck, I'll snipe for a set for you someday if you want. The set usually goes for around $65 to $75 on ebay.

I just watched the 2003 WSOP and aside from being disgusted watching Moneymaker donk his way to the title with bad call and total luckbox suck outs, I did notice that they mixed clay and Bud Jones chips.

It appeared to me that they were using clay up to the 500 chip and after that they used a Bud Jones version that had a large metallic inlay, not a coin, but a sticker like those Cerromar Beach chips that have been discussed here recently.

They are actually just black inlays.
