Chips: 2,938 | | | I think I just got a great deal, info please? I won an auction off of eBay thinking I was buying this chip: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=6287008677
I was perfectly happy with the price and everything else. The wife and I are Golden Nugget fans so even if I got ripped off, I would still be happy with having something vintage from the Nugget.
However the chip that arrived was this one: (Picture from Silver State Treasures)
Which appears to be a 60's issue instead of a 70's issue as I expected.
The chip is in excellent condition (a little dirty but in a case)...
Anyone think it is worth more than the $17.00 I paid for it? Did I just make a score from someone that didn't know the difference?
Thanks for any info chip geeks! |

I've bid on a few of them before.
U.S. Guide has a value range estimate of $25-60 depending on condition. It's an 11th issue chip. Plenty of these sell in the $15-20 range, though. You did just fine for yourself.

I really need to get out in the real world more often- I really had no idea chip collections were on par with other let me say collectable investments for lack of a better term

If you compare all the stuff done in the 60s on the GN house mold, it would have to be considered as one of the most aesthetically pleasing sets ever. http://www.silver-state-treasures.co...s/goldnugg.htm |

I swear, I hate this place. It's gonna cost me soooo much time to go through all these threads - and sooooo much money, when I find that one chip I just can't live without... |
