the start of my collection

these chips mark the start of my collection.
I really like the WSOP chip and the Borgata chips.
Apologies about the colors messing up

Nice! The Borgata chips are beautiful and I like the 5000 Binions but can you tell me about the photograph. Is that a scan or photo? and if its a photo what set have you used to make it?

got these today

These are scans of the chips.
It appears that the bright orange color on the chips isnt being scanned right.

Re: the start of my collection

Jim, question about the Normandie Casino chip...
is it still valueable even if it is off centre?
The text within the inlay isnt in the middle, and the inlay itself, is not in the middle either.
The edgespots are actually fluro orange but are washed out in the scan.

Also, i am after a 1000 chip for the Binions WSOP set. Might anyone know where i can find one?

'ash, flawed it is, but the condition appears to be new. If so, that will offset the misalignments. On another chip, these misalignments might be more of a detriment, but in this instance they are not a great distraction.

At $20, I don't see a big deal.

I know of no source for WSOP chips.

Jim

Re: the start of my collection

Very nice chips, ash

I've been trying to pickup a set of the ones you have on ebay, but never seen $1000. I guess it make sense having a chip between the $500 and $5000.

I've also seen a pic of a $1 chip, but haven't seen that for sale anywhere either.

Good luck

Re: the start of my collection

I saw a 5,000 NCV on ebay last week. It hit $60 but never eclipsed the reserve. Here's the link:

At one time, it seems Old Vegas was selling these----

http://www.hardrockchips.com/1shoe5000.htm

note that Hard Rock is a mirror of the main Old Vegas site.

Here are links if you want to see some more of Binion's back catalogue. Also, I recently found an online collector who dealt with WSOP chips almost exclusively. If I find his site again, I'll link you.
