Breakdowns for tourney using 100-500-1000-5000

Hey guys, just wanted some advise regarding what breakdown to use for this?

When I use blind valet, it suggests using 200/400 blinds to start (100 big blinds, 40k chips), but then I would need at least 12 100 chips per person minimum Id say. Im thinking about doing a 400 pc set.

Everyone seems to suggest doing 100/200 blinds. All I know is that I want to have 100,500,1000,5000 chips in play, maybe at some point 25k chip for rebuys.

So my first question is what do you guys suggest, a 100BB tourney at 100/200, or a 100BB tourney at 200/400

Secondly, how does chip quantities get affected by the fact that with this spread, 500 > 1000 is only double where as all the other chips are 4-5x. Do I need a lot less 500s, and more 1000s?

I was thinking something like for 8 players

100 x 100
150 x 500
100 x 1000
50 x 500

But I feel as if that many 500s are not necessary, and because of the jump from 500-1000 being only 2x, that more 1000 chips might be necessary?

Any advise? Im so confused! Im just going by the breakdown in the great chip breakdowns thread but the 100-500-1000-5000 seems to break this rule

Start at 100/200 (you can change this in BV) and go 10-8-10-5 for T40k starting stacks.

I'd go 10-10-9-5 starting stacks. And buy 100/100/100/80/20. You have 10 T1000s to colour up the T100s and T5000s to colour up everything else. And a handful of T25000s in case you decide to do a rebuy or deepstack tourny sometime.

Re: Breakdowns for tourney using 100-500-1000-5000

Thanks for the replies guys. I think there's some confusion about the 40k starting amount. 40k would be 100bb if I were to do 200/400. If I'm going to do 100/200 like eevryone is suggesting, then 40k would be 200 bb! Way too much for a regular tourney. I'm thinking 25k for about 125bb, maybe 30k for 150 bb. Of course this is if I do 100/200 blinds, which sounds like it might be best

I'm really wanting the get the right breakdown as there's only one order that can be done here so I wanna make sure its right.

Anyone have any more suggestions?
I was thinking something like 10-8-10-3 for 30k.

I'm still unsure if I would even need 20 of the 25ks as its unlikely chips in play would need to use 25k chips really. Ahhh I dunno lol
