I have been hammering this out with limited success. I now come on bended knee to the collective wisdom of my fellow CTers
I searched like mad for this but the term "30" is too short to be allowed and nobody used "thirty". Hopefully this isn't covering old ground.
I need to assemble a new tournament set to cover a max of 30 people. I would like to start with a big and easy 10k. I got the blind structure from HomePokerTourney for T10000 with starting blinds of 100-200.
Just about any way I slice it I am looking at around 1000 chips to buy. Anyone have any ideas how I can save some money? Quality wise I would like to buy something no worse than NJ Desert Sands. I can get those in sets of 500 for .40 each if I buy new.
Any ideas on another structure that would require less chips for so many people? I don't want them having to make change all the time which is why I think I am going to need to buy at least 1000 chips. How about rebuys? What can I expect out of 30 people? Unlimited rebuys are allowed in the first 3 rounds at $20 each if you bust out. I am guessing on about 10-15 maybe.
This will be my first hosted event. I am really excited about it but I really want to get it right the first time.
Starting T10,000:
10x T100
8X T500
5x T1000
Color up the T100 at round 9 (1500-3000 blinds) for 60 more T500
Total chips needed with 15 T1000 rebuys would be 900 if my brain is working.
Any practical way to get this down to 800 chips without making it less fun?
