Chip Breakdown Needed

Hi there,

I want to buy a 1000pcs. chip set.

It's supposed to be used for cash game and tourney alike! So, I would like it to feature all the chips need for cash game and tourneys.

Cash game is micro stakes; mostly 0.05/0.10, 0.10/0.20, or 0.25/0.50.

Buy-in per player $5-$15 depending on stakes.

4-8 Players.

Colors: Red (t5), Green (t25), Black (t100), Purple (t500).
(In cash games, t100 is used as $1 [=100 cents], and t500 as $5, if needed.)

Tourneys are supposed to be mostly T500, T1000, or T1500, SnG style, 6-8 Players.

Can someone walk me through the estimations and calculations needed to figure out the chip distributions? I tried Chip Breakdown Calculator, but can't figure it out just right.

Help would be needed and appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your effort!

Re: Chip Breakdown Needed

Please post in the appropriate forum! There's a dedicated forum for chip breakdowns (which is where I just moved this to)

Re: Chip Breakdown Needed

let's assume 8 players. cool?

.05/.10 nl
t5 x 10
t25 x 14
t100 x 1

you'll need:
t5 x 80
t25 x 112
t100 x 50 (enough for everyone to reload once)

.10/.20 nl
t5 x 15
t25 x 17
t100 x 5

you'll need:
t5 x 120
t25 x 136
t100 x 50
t500 x 32 (enough for everyone to reload once)

.25/.50 nl
i would not play these stakes with only a $15 buy-in (the max indicated in the op). jmho.
t25 x 8
t100 x 13

you'll need:
t25 x 64
t100 x 104
t500 x 24 (enough for everyone to reload once)

so for the cash set that's a max of:
t5 x 120
t25 x 136
t100 x 104
t500 x 32

t500 tourney
t5 x 20
t25 x 16

you'll need:
t5 x 160
t25 x 160
t100 x 40 (if you want to color up the t25s...)

t1000 tourney
t5 x 10
t25 x 10
t100 x 7

you'll need:
t5 x 80
t25 x 96
t100 x 80
t500 x 16 (if you want to color up the t100s...)

t1500 tourney
t5 x 10
t25 x 10
t100 x 7
t500 x 1

you'll need:
t5 x 80
t25 x 96
t100 x 80
t500 x 24 (if you want to color up the t100s...)

so for the tourney set that's a max of (i assumed no re-buys or addons for any of the tourneys):
t5 x 160
t25 x 160
t100 x 80
t500 x 24

and a grand set of:
t5 x 160
t25 x 160
t100 x 104
t500 x 32

i hope someone who's better at this than me will check this and point out my errors.

Check out the PI Clay group buy here:
http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/palmim...er-thread.html

I have used a set to conduct the kinds of games you are talking about.

You can use a set of only 500 to complete the mission and you can cover 10 players either for tourneys or micro cash games. The breakdown I used:

100 - T5
150 - T10
100 - T25
100 - T100
50 - T500
= 500 chips.
You may not need 50 - T500's, so you could tweak it just a bit if you wanted more T-5's. Maybe 120 - T5 and 30 - T500, whatever you wish.

For the micro cash game, chips are valued as CENTS. With a 5 dollar buy in each player gets:
10 -T5
15 - T10
8 - T25
1 - T100
You'll have pleny of T100's and T-500's for rebuys. Just change out for small chips from the table.

For the T1000 tourney, each player gets:
10 - T5
10 - T10
10 - T25
6 - T100
You'll have plenty of T-100's and T-500's for color up later on.

Using this set up you are good to go with only 500 chips.

Good Luck.

Re: Chip Breakdown Needed

Wow, thank you very much for the awesome replies. That really helped!

I'll consider your ideas and work something out based on your numbers.

This was just crossing my ming when I was finished reading your replies:

(A)
175 x t5
175 x t25
100 x t100
50 x t500
_________
500 Chips

(B)
150 x t5
200 x t25
100 x t100
50 x t500
_________
500 Chips

Any good?

Thanks again, and sorry for posting in the wrong forum!
