Do you already know if you want to get them for tournaments (T1500/T10,000) or for ring games (5c/10c or 25c/50c).
This information may help a lot
But 400 are a nice overall amount for 6 people!

tournament. the stack size doesn't matter. what you like best.

I would make it a T1,500 Tournament, that way you will also be able to faciliate a nice 5c/10c ring game.
For 6 players i would take a 400 chips total consisting of:
120 x 5
160 x 25
100 x 100
20 x 500

You said you like big stacks? What about those for a tournament:
20 x 5 =100
20 x 25=500
9 x 100=900
--->1500
After providing those starting stacks for 6 players, you still have enough chips left to color-up all the T5 and T25 Chips and you will be able to have at least 6 rebuys.

starting denom 25 or 100. maybe a T20000.

T20,000 6 Players; 6 rebuys:
130 x 100
150 x 500
90 x 1000
30 x 5000

each players gets a whopping stack of:
20x100; 20x500; 13x1000.
Than you have some T5000 Chips for rebuys, enough t500 to color-up the t100 and at least 5 extras of each denom if some chips get KIA.
