Efficiency Breakdown

To be honest, I think my breakdown is good. I'm looking for some feedback to see if there are holes that need to be filled. I know color-ups could be tight but I want to get in the habit of using the larger chips more. Here are the objectives I'm trying to fulfill;
1) 1000 chips max
2) 27 player max
3) In my T7500 tourneys (blinds start 25/50) I only want 3 denoms in play for up to 24 players.

Breakdowns:
25-220
100-320
500-300
1000-120
5000-40

Stacks:
T7500
1-18 12/17/11
19-24 8/13/12
25-27 8/8/9/2
T10000
1-18 12/17/16
19-24 8/13/11/3
25-27 8/8/10/4

Thoughts?

Re: Efficiency Breakdown

Chris,

I currently like the ratio of 4-6-3-4-1 (25, 100, 500, 1000, 5000).

I think the 100's and 1000's are the workhorse chips. I think the 25's get out of play quickly (and players mostly bet the 100's). Likewise, I think players bet 1000's more than 500's.

In addition, having a higher ratio of 1000's to 500's gives you the option to support more players, deeper starting stacks, etc. if ever needed. And the difference in stack sizes between 2-500's or 1-1000 is minimal (1 chip).

So, while I'd like to have bigger stacks of 25's, etc. I found this to be a an efficient and economical approach.

This would make a 1000 chip set as:
Breakdowns:
25-220
100-330
500-170
1000-220
5000-60

Of course, you may want to tweak this to put quantities on the boundaries of 20's (or 100's)

Agreed.

How about starting stacks of 8-8-3-5 for T7500 (conveniently 3 stacks of 8), or 8-8-6-6 for T10,000. A good breakdown might be:

220 x T25
280 x T100
180 x T500
260 x T1000
60 x T5000

Agree 8-8-6-6 or 8-8-8-5 for T10K

You will waste more if you use 12 for $25 bec the T25 will be color after the third level. I played T10K all the time. Here is my 8-8-8-5

Good luck...

Re: Efficiency Breakdown

I definitely plan on buying the minimum 25s which is 220. I also prefer the idea of only 3 denoms in play for the usual group of 18 players. Therefore, I'm leaning towards following breakdown:
25-220
100-320
500-220
1000-200
5000-40

Thanks for the advice.

droool........Mixed games racks

By mizuchaud
12 T25 (T300)
7 T100 (T700)
2 T 500 (T1,000)
8 T 1000 (T8,000)
2 T 5000 (T10,000)

T20,000 in 31 pretty chips...
WSOP not showing that pretty T500 no love, what's up with that?!

(borrowed this from my own post from the WSOP thread...)
seemed on topic.

I had never thought of the T1000 being more of a workhorse than the T500 as I've only had one table of players. MTT's may have bigger needs due to the much higher stacks at the middle and end of tourneys....
So the closeness of the T500 to the 1K seems to make sense if you use MUCH less of the 500 and load up on the 1K chip. Then you get to color everything up for the cameras.....

Re: Efficiency Breakdown

They really skew the ratio of 500s to 1ks. Nice looking stacks.
