Chips: 414 | | | My 10 person, 20K, chipset HI guys,
Let me know what you think of this idea, thanks.
560 chips
25 x 80
100 x 150
500 x 120
1000 x 150
5000 x 60
and for a big starting stack
25 x 8 = 200
100 x 13 = 1300
500 x 9 = 4500
1000 x 9 = 9000
5000 x 1 = 5000
------------------------
40 chips = 20000
5K add on , enough for rebuys, chip ups | | Sponsored Links | |

Chips: 2,860 | | | Re: My 10 person, 20K, chipset Out of curiosity, why do you need a 25 chip for a T20,000 tournament? Wouldn't the blinds start at 100/200 (100xBB)? |

Chips: 2,860 | | | Re: My 10 person, 20K, chipset Here's my recommendation... basically what I did for a T20,000 NLHE / T50,000 for HORSE (starting with 100 antes for the stud-type rounds):
T50,000 starting stacks (8 players) are:
20 x T100
12 x T500
12 x T1,000
6 x T5,000
T20,000 starting stacks (10 players) are:
20 x T100
10 x T500
13 x T1,000
(or 8 x T1,000 and 1 x T5,000, if you prefer)
I find that you don't need very many T500s; prefer to colour up T100s directly to T1000s (and T500s directly to T5,000s, and T1,000s to T10,000s), since you only ever need 1 x T500 (or 1 x T5000) at a time for betting purposes... So my overall breakdown looks like:
200 x T100
100 x T500
160 x T1,000
80 x T5,000
60 x T10,000
------------------
800 chips total
That should leave you with plenty of chips for colouring up, add-ons, re-buys... whatever! And when it gets down to 2 or 3 players, we find it simplifies counting to get as many T10,000s in play (and limit the number of T5,000s) as possible. |

Chips: 414 | | | Re: My 10 person, 20K, chipset my blinds start at 50 / 100, 200x BB
I really only need four 25 chips. But , what I really wanted was a starting stack of 40 chips. Now you know why I made my choices. |

You could almost start at 25/50 if you have the time. We have (rarely) a 1,000,000 tourney that starts at 1,000/2,000 blinds! Stupid I know, but just a little more fun and a huge stack...
A nice clean stack of 40 is also a good idea. |

Now you know why I made my choices. | I like the 12 - 12 - 7 breakdown for Sit&Go style T5000's If you want some versatility in this set I would suggest getting and using more T25's. For your T20000; If you went with 12 x 25, 12 x 100, 7 x 500, 5 x 1000, and 2 x 5000 you would have 38 chips and T20000. But wait! If you add a Re-Buy and a Bounty chip you have a perfect 40! I hope I am not barred from CT for suggesting fewer chips but you can trade quantity for diversity... I like full stacks... and full chip cases. 120 x 25 120 x 100 100 x 500 100 x 1000 50 x 5000 10 x 25000 This is a 500 chip set though you could go with; 90 x 1000 40 x 5000 10 x 25000 10 x Re-Buy (Non Denom) 10 x Bounty You could just do; 40 x 5000 10 x Re-Buy (Non Denom) 10 x Bounty and add 10 x 25,000 plaques. (Check out the plaques from these sets; http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/brpropoker-com-offers/48580-sunfly-competition-group-buy-8-designs-buttons-plaques-ends-5-4-08-a.html ) Just some food for thought. Chips: 69 | | | Re: My 10 person, 20K, chipset That sounds like great fun. Starting with a big ol pile of chips like that. Most of our tourneys are T1000 with 8 25s and 8 100s to start. Blinds start at 25-25 and go up pretty slowly but we usually clean-up 15 players in 2.5 hours and reset the game. Don't need a lot of chips for a game like this.
You guys must have tons of chips in play. I would like to play a game like that sometime. I'm rambling now. It's late.

Chips: 1,595 | | | Re: My 10 person, 20K, chipset Seconding what DiceCaller said, I frequently run a T5000 tourney (essentially a S&G) with anywhere from 5 (the fewest) to 8 (the most here recently). I use the 12-12-7 setup and it works out great. I do have to encourage the big stack to not be afraid of using the T100s if they have a bunch of them, but it really is a rare problem.
I have T1000s for color ups in the latter stages, and just recently here, enough of them to run a T10k if I really want to (12-12-7-5).
As a note, if we only get four, we'll do a small heads-up tourney (sometimes round robin and sometimes double elimination). That, or break out into a cash game. Depends on how people feel. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
