Chips: 907 | | | 300 chip, 10 person, 10k tourney breakdown The Lone Star Roundup organizers challenged ChipTalk's resident chipset breakdown guru Matthew to come up with an optimal 300 piece tourney chipset breakdown for the two chipsets that we purchased during the group buy to be raffled off. There are many posts here by newbies in particular asking for small starter chipset breakdowns so hopefully this info will be useful.
Chipset Breakdown
80 x T25
80 x T100
60 x T500
60 x T1000
20 x non-denom
Starting stacks (using 280 of 300 chips to start)
8 x T25
8 x T100
6 x T500
6 x T1000
Matthew suggests that the 20 non-denoms can be used as a T5k for color-ups by by changing out just one T5000 chip with the big stack and freeing up enough chips to accomplish a color up. Conversely, the non-denom could be used as a 2xT5000 rebuy/add-on when there are less than 10 players. The versatile chipset could of course also be used for T2500 and T5000 tourneys for up to 10 players.
Just wanted to share with you ChipTalkers what Matthew came up with. I think it's terrific and a testament to just how creative he is. Thank you Matthew! We'll be thinking of you next week in Texas.

Coloring up directly to 5K chips also works great. I think this will work very well. Now please just let me win it. Please.

I was looking at the same breakdown (x2) for a two table tournament set. It seems to be fairly functional and provides you with a couple of options (T10000 freezeout, T5000 with rebuys and reloads).
