Denomination preferences...

Just curious to know, for a tournament using 5 denoms and having anywhere from 500-700 chips, do you find it more beneficial for your tournament and blind structure to use:

T25
T100
T500
T1000
T5000

OR

T25
T100
T500
T2500
T10,000

All replies greatly appreciated.

Re: Denomination preferences...

The 25/100/500/2500/10000 progression probably makes more sense, but I have enough trouble counting chips as it is. 25/100/500/1000/5000 is good enough for casinos, so it's good enough for me.

Re: Denomination preferences...

Hello,

There are a few threads on this topic. The most recent is;
http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/tourna...-000-chip.html

This also contains links to a few other threads on the subject.

While I have not yet played with a T2500 (or a T2000) I like the idea. If these threads are any indication, I would say the breakdown would be somethings like;
50% T1000
30% T2000
20% T2500

Most like the T1000 because it is traditional, many find that people have difficulty wrapping their decimal brains around a $2500 chip.

In the end it comes down to personal preference...

Hope this helps
Shane

Re: Denomination preferences...

Up to now we've always played with the standard 25/100/500/1000/5000, but I've recently added a T2500 chip to one of my custom sets and am anxious to see how folks respond to that.

Re: Denomination preferences...

For me, it's the traditional 25/100/500/1000/5000. Going higher, the next steps would be 25000 and 100000.

I'd like to hear from folks who actually use the 2500 chip in their games.

Talking Re: Denomination preferences...

I have a tournament every week that is a T20,000 we start with 100/500/1000 chips equaling 20K then bring in 5000's later.
the chips themselves break down:
One hundred-100
One Fifty-500
one fifty-1000
one hundred-5000
everything runs super smooth at our games.
hope that helps
