Planning on getting a 600 chip custom set with denoms. Planing on no $ sign on the inlays, so 25 can be $25 or 25 cents 100 can be $1 or $100 etc. What is the best breakdown of chips to be able to run a soild tournament or cash game for a full single table game? Typically playing .50/ $1 NL or a 1-5 spread limit cash game, but ocasionaly playing a low stakes game (.25 /.50)
Stud would be played so some kind of Ante chip would be good to but not the highest priority.
I would go for two ND chips, one at low end and one at high end. You probably would not be using both in the same game.
The low-end ND would be ante in stud games, or a T5 chip.
The high-end ND would be T2500 for T5000 or T10000 tourneys (or T2000 if desired), and it could act as a $20 chip (or $25 chip) in cash games. Hence it might be better off without a denomination on it. [You could also use it as T1000 if people want a T25/T100/T500/T1000 chip sequence.]
NDlo/T25/T100/T500/NDhi chip breakdowns
100/160/160/120/60
lets you do T5000 as 8/8/8 or 12/12/7 starting stacks
lets you do T10000 as 8/13/7/2 or 12/12/7/2, with 10 rebuys of 4xT2500
lets you start cash games with 16x.25/16x$1 in everyone's stacks
100/160/160/100/80
gives you a few more ND chips, possibly allowing you to use either ND chip as an ante chip in stud games
80/160/200/100/60
some people like more T100 chips in play, and this would give you more $1 chips for your spread-limit games
Those breakdowns might not give you enough $5 chips for cash games. Another option is just to use one ND chip. It would either be used below the T25 or above the T500.
