Chips: 9 | | T-mold Cash game set Hi guys,
I'm new to posting but have been lurking for quite some time. I've ordered the T-mold sample set and have decided on 3 colors.
Arc yellow as $1
Hot pink as $.25
and Light blue (I think that's what it is) as $.05
I still need to figure out what color for the $5 chip, but I will do that soon. What I wanted is your opinions on the following config:
10 players $.10/$.25 blinds. Min buy-in $5, max buy-in $20.
$.05 - 5
$.25 - 19
$1.00 - 10
$5.00 - 1
This is for a $20 buy-in. For the $10 buy-in:
$.05 - 5
$.25 - 19
$1.00 - 5
I will be getting the following stacks:
$5 - 45
$1 - 175
$.25 - 190
$.05 - 50
Total of 460 chips
This should allow for 10 people to buy-in for $20, and I would still have enough for 15 re-buys at $20 ($5 - 3, $1 - 5)
I can also adjust this to any blind game as the chips are non-demoniation.
Anything I'm missing or does this look ok?
Cheers

Chips: 36 | | | Re: T-mold Cash game set That breakdown looks pretty good, but I'd be tempted to use the light blue as 10c chips instead of 5c (to match the small blind). If you do this, you'd need to change the number of 25c chips per stack to 18.
I'd also consider handing out the first $20 entirely in 10c, 25c and $1 chips -- so 15x$1 chips per stack. Then handle all subsequent rebuys with $5 chips.
So, my suggestion:
50 x 10c
180 x 25c
150 x $1
60 x $5
This still gives you 15 full rebuys (total set value of $500) and is 440 chips. If you chose 460 chips intentionally, I'd get an extra 20x$5 chips to give a total set value of $600. |

But if you're set on a 5¢ chip (maybe to use in other games; antes in stud games, for example), then I'd recommend starting each player with 10 of them; 5 only gives enough to complete 1 BB... so players would need to be making change every orbit or 2.
As for colours, I'd (personally) go with a more standard colour progression. You could use those same colours, but in a different order:
arch-yellow for 5¢ or 10¢
hot-pink for 25¢
light-blue for $1
This basically follows the standard casino colours used in California (which uses a yellow chip for $5 btw... but yellow wouldn't work well with your arch-yellow chips). Since your $5 chip will be your highest denomination, you could give it an "intimidating" colour like charcoal or black, or you could use blood-red (standard Las Vegas colour). |

That sounds good. I will change the values like you said too. I like it better.
I was thinking that yellow might look ok dur to the fact that there won't ever be that many arch yellow's, so it might not clash as much. I'll have to try what looks better tonight.
Thanks for the tips guys!! |

Chips: 2,892 | | | Re: T-mold Cash game set I just thought I'd bring your attention to a set of these chips that are up for trade (and potentially sale) right now: http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/want-b...first-set.html
He has several higher denomination chips ($25s and $100s) that you might not need, but he might be willing to break up the set. In any case, you should be able to get them for much cheaper than the new price (since these were a test batch; see here: http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/holdem...pcs-200-a.html) |

Un-stamped T-molds are very nice and more versatile. Go for it! |

Chips: 36 | | | Re: T-mold Cash game set Since I'm currently looking at a breakdown for a similar set to yours I thought I'd chime in again with my current ponderings.
Rather than 10c/25c blinds as you are planning, I intend to go for 25p/25p blinds. This means I won't need a 5p or 10p chip at all, saving me 50 chips that will get little use (especially if/when we start playing with 25p/50p blinds).
I intend to have the following stacks for up to 8 players (up to 10 will mean reducing chips per person slightly): 16x25p, 16x£1, and up to 6x£5 depending on the size of the buy-in. Beyond this, I'd use £25 chips (which won't be needed whilst playing 25p/25p, but will hopefully increase the lifetime of the set by allowing it to handle up to 50p/£1).
The breakdown I am thinking of using for this is:
130 x 25p
130 x £1
100 x £5
40 x £25
This is a total of 400 chips, with a total set value of £3662.50, which should be able to handle any games from 25p/25p blinds up to £1/£2.
Not sure if this will help with your decisions on breakdowns at all, but I thought I'd share it.
Edit: Ok, durh! Since you're intending to get non-denom chips, you can scale your values to any amount you see fit. So, you know, feel free to ignore me ^^ | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
