Upgrade my T5000 to deepstack

Hi!

tomb1 helped me out to find a good set/starting stack and blinds for my T5000 regular home tournament.

Now i want to boost my pharaohs set for deepstack (T10000? T20000?)

Do i need do double my 300 chipset?

So what do i need to buy? Thanks

Quote:
Chips to buy:
80 x $25
150 x $100 (just enough to color up all your $25s)
40 x $500
30 x $1000
Total 300 chips. (This is just enough to color up all your $100s too, if you wish.)

Starting stack for T5000 up to 10 players without rebuys
8 x $25
13 x $100
3 x $500
2 x $1000

Total 26 chips for T$5,000 stack -- a decent-sized stack.

You should buy some $5000 chips. Then you can add a T5,000 chip to a T5,000 starting stack for a T10,000 Tourney.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Re: Upgrade my T5000 to deepstack

The best solution IMO is to buy some $5,000 chips. But that's a problem with Pharaoh's unless you get some non-denoms for the big chips. Or you could get a nice $5K chips from another set, like Top Hat & Cane shaped inlays, or Mardi Gras clays.

Then you can use 8/13/7/5/3 for a nice $25,000 tourney with 36 chips per person. That's 500 x BB for your deep stack play. For 10 players you could keep your set at 80/150/100/80/40 for 450 chips, give or take a few.

If you want bigger stacks you could do something like 8/13/13/12/1 for still $25K with more chips.

We just had an impromptu game last weekend using the $100-$5000 chips and a $50,000 starting stack. Loads of play and lotsa fun.

Well, we did it on the spur of the moment so I just made up some stack at the table without much forethought. We didn't want it to go on all night so we started with 100-200 blinds, and I only used the 100-500-1000-5000 chips.

Our starting stack was either 15/15/11/6 or 15/17/10/6, I can't remember.

Paulson Winner Club solid 5k chips would work perfectly. The light grey in particular would work really well with the Pharaoh's.

Re: Upgrade my T5000 to deepstack

You can also go deepstack by buying chips in the other direction.

Add 200 red chips as T5. Give everyone 20 of them and take away one of the T100 chips. That's still T5000 but you start with blinds of T5/T10, so it's another way of getting 500BB to start.

20 x T5
8 x T25
12 x T100
3 x T500
2 x T1000

That's 45 chips for starting stacks.

I'm not sure what you mean by "deepstack" -- just lots of chips, or very low blinds in relation to starting amount? The above approach does get lots of chips in play, but the reds would still be colored up after the first 3 or 4 levels.

If you just want very low blinds in relation to starting stack, consider something like a T1600 by adding 100 T1 (white) and 80 T5 (red) to your set instead.

10 x T1
8 x T5
6 x T25
4 x T100
2 x T500

That's 30 chips for starting stack and start with T1/T2 blinds, which would be starting with 800 BB. Very slow progression.

I think the problem with making a very "deep stack" in the higher direction with Paulson's is that after the T1000, and using the ND as T5000, there is no T25000 chip to use in that design.

Re: Upgrade my T5000 to deepstack

Doesn't the OP want to move to a T10,000 or T20,000 starting stack?

Re: Upgrade my T5000 to deepstack

Thanks, Tom

I am putting a set together with starting stacks of either 25K or 50K with 100/200 starting blinds and was thinking 15-7-10-2 for 25K and 15-7-10-7 for 50K so I was curious.
