I want to get in on the Palms buy and get a 30 man chipset for a T10,000 buy-in with blinds starting at 100/200. How do you feel about this breakdown?

350 x 500
100 x 1000
50 x 5000
25 x 25000

I want the high (5000/25000) denoms just because. This will let everyone (30 guys) start with 29 chips - 15x100, 11x500, and 3x500. It will also, certainly, give me plenty to color-up.

Any thoughts?

Reduce T100. 300-325 would be enough and increase T1000 to 300-350

I run a T20000 with 25-40 players. Starting stack

If it's a no-limit tourney, then you have too many $100s in your starting stack (and you're wasting money on buying too many $100s). You should have more of your 2nd chip in the stack than your lowest chip, or the same like JHickle.

Maybe buy like 300/375/250/50/25 and start each guy with 10/10/4. I would actually start with only 5 x $100 chips but it sounds like you want a bigger stack, and that's OK of course.

If you want to buy $5K and $25K chips (and why not!), you might want to have a T$20K or T$25K starting stack or even higher. Otherwise, for all 30 players at T$10K each, that's only 12 x $25K chips to color up everything!

Here's my 1000 chip set for T10000 tourneys:
240 x 25
240 x 100
220 x 500
200 x 1000
100 x 5000

It's really geared for 20 person tourneys (and obviously has lower starting blinds than you're looking at), but it could handle 30 people with starting stacks of 8,8,6,6. Color ups would be a bit harrowing (needing to buy back 100s to color up the 25s, but not too bad).

You could remove 20 5000s and get 20 25000s instead, my tentative plan is to fill in 25000s with plaques at a later date (unneccesary, but fun! )

We drop the ante once it gets to heads up. Deal at 6:30 and it's never gone past 12:30 (largest night was 38 players).
