Dunes (China) Cash Breakdown

I have my custom BCC tourney set, now Jim has given me a good reason to blow $175 on a cash set.

I want to host .25/.50 NL $40 max buy-in, with aspirations of drawing my players into .50/1. I figure i'll have enough 5's to accommodate the jump (to $80 max buy-in) when it happens.

I want to keep it right around 650 chips, to fit Joe's nifty black cases! I also like having lots of $1's to splash around.

Does this look like a good arrangement, with accommodations for future growth? (Remaining Chips count is factoring in the pending purchase data, as the current chip set column is blank)

Re: Dunes Cash Breakdown

You should consider a starting stack that does not have 4 denoms in play. IMO, you only want to start a cash game with 3 denoms max and maybe other chips are added when you color up a big stack or two but the .25 chip should not be in play with the $25 chip to start the game (IMO).

Re: Dunes Cash Breakdown

I think that 12 x 25¢ and 22 x $1.00 is a great starting stack for a game where you want lots of $1s on the table to splash around. This will support either a .25/.50 or .50/1.00 NL game with no problem. Then you fill in with however many $5s on top of that for your initial buy-in, up to about $200.

I don't think you need more 25¢ chips, however. Make your rebuys with only $1 and/or $5 chips, and make change on the table. In our experience, having 100-120 of the 25¢ chips is enough for 10 players. If you keep rebuying with 25¢ chips, you'll have too damn many of those useless little suckers sitting around.

Buy more $5 chips instead of 25¢ chips and you'll get more "bank" for your buck.

Also, you might want to see exactly how many chips fit in that "650" case. Many times a case will fit extras (could be 26?) and of course you want to fill the case up, don't you?!?

Points taken. OP updated.

Normally, yes I would (can't have wasted space ). OTOH, I don't want to have too many unused chips, esp. since I need to start banking for my BCC tourney add-on. (yes, I know it's only $6 for 25 more). More importantly, I can only fit my 2-deck bridge-size setup (box) into the case if I short the first rows on either side of the middle section, so I'll probably have trouble fitting 650 to begin with. I have a feeling I'll "make do" SOMEhow.

Re: Dunes (China) Cash Breakdown

looks good to me, though once u have 320 $1 chips u may find that u get more value out of having 30 more $5 chips for
320-$1
180-$5
if your playing 25c-50c the majority of the chips on the table will be $1 and $5 anyway with few $25 chips but once your up to $1-$2 games you may find yourself short on 5's seeing how u won't be using the quarters. Once you've put out everyones initial buy-in of 25c,$1's,$5's any rebuy's of chips can just be in $5 chips allowing players to make change on the table.
