Cash/Tourny Set

Hi,

I am trying to make a cash game chip set that can double as a tournament chip set, 400 chips total. The cash game is .25/.25 with a 10-20 buyin, I would like it to handle 10 players (we rarely, if ever have ten players, but by accounting for 10 players, I am also accounting for the rebuys in our normal 5-7 player game), and as said earlier, it can be 400 chips. I think that $0.25, $1, and $5 chips ought to be good, but I don't know what quantities to get.

The tournament will be based entirely around whatever cash set I get. I just want to know what tournament setup would flow with the cash set (i.e., T20, T50, etc), and what some good distributions would be.

Thanks for any help you can offer. I know these types of questions are common, but this one is pretty specific and I could not find an answer in a search.

An excellent article indeed. Well worth the read.

Here's what I'd suggest:

125 x T25 ($0.25)
150 x T100 ($1)
75 x T500 ($5)
50 x T1000 ($10)
400 Total

For Cash game:
12 x $0.25
12 x $1
1 x $5
$20 buy-in, 25 chips per player
(This is what I've been using for my $0.25/$0.50 NL cash games lately)

For Tourney:
8 x T25
13 x T100
3 x T500
2 x T1000
26 chips per player, total of T5000 chips

I'm pretty sure my math was right on the breakdowns and number of chips.
I just bought a set of 500 with a very similar breakdown (150-175-125-50).
