Simpler Chip Breakdown Spreadsheet - Ver. 3f in post 39 - But read from post 1

Basically stripped down and tweaked some of the various spreadsheets available around the web and made a tool much easier (I think) to use. Just fill in the yellow sections with the values applicable to your set/tournament to get a picture of how many you need vs. how many you have.

I have my own values in there now, change as needed.

Hope folks find it useful!

EDIT: updated file further down the thread

Re: Simpler Chip Breakdown Spreadsheet

That's pretty cool and real simple to use.

One minor adjustment you might want to consider. When you calculate the number of chips needed for color-ups, you are coloring up only the previous denomination. And that's OK. But if it's not the first denom colored up, you will have more of that denom than you started with, since you colored up previously. For example, if you are playing with 5-25-100-500 chips, when you color up the 5s, you add more 25s to the mix in addition to your starting stack. So when you color-up the 25s, you need enough 100s to color up all the initial 25s plus the 25s added from coloring up the 5s. Make sense?

Good point. I added your suggestion and those from squiggly. Try this one!
