Chips: 19,370 | | | Matsui Blue Sands Tounrey set help I am jumping in on the Matsui Blue Sands tourney set and I want to get the most effecient set of 1000 chips as I can. There are 4 denoms:
25
100
500
1000
There is also going to be a 5000 plaque which I plan on getting (above & beyond the 1000 chips I quoted above)
So what would be the best breakdown for the 1000 chips. I know this type of question was asked before but with the restructuring of the site I can't seem to find the thread/threads.
The number of players that we would have would be around 10-16 If we getmore than that I have other sets I can use for larger tournies
Thanks for the help

I suppose the I want to know is how much is your starting stack? How many rebuys are you going to need? Will you have an add on. If you go with 10K stacks and one rebuy and 5K add on then for sixteen people I would do this
48-5K Plaques will give you 16 rebuys at 10K EACH PLUS one add on of 5K for each player(16 players)
128-25'S
160-100'S
160-500's
160-1000's
This would give you stacks of 8-25's,8-100's,8-500's and 5-1000's with enough chips to color up the 25's ,100's and 500's. If you want to get less plaques and more 1K's thats up to you. I get a total of 608 chips and 48-5K Plaques |

I get a total of 608 chips and 48-5K Plaques | I should have mentioned we play freeze out tournies - no rebuys/add ons. That way we can play a few torunies in one night as opposed to one long toruney.
As for starting stacks - I am open to use whatever works withthin the paramenters of the 1000 chips. I would be using the 5k plaques later in the tourney as we color up and slim down the field - most likely not until the final table which is uaully 6-8 players
I could go with what I have seen in the chip breakdown section at HPT:
400 x 25
300 x 100
200 x 500
100 x 1000
10-16 x 5000 (This part was not in the HPT breakdown, I added it)
I am not positive that the breakdown above would work & my experience with breakdowns is minimal. I appreciate the help

The ultimate 1000 chip set | Thanks Gman. That looks like a good breakdown. What would the starting stacks look like? What if I didn't go with as many plaques? Would that lessen the playability of the set? (The plaques are pretty costly)
Thanks

The ultimate 1000 chip set | The problem that I see with this breakdown (and you can do what you want) is in most tournaments you only use the 25's for the first 3 rounds and then color up so I think the most 25's you'll need will be 8 or maybe 12 per person. For 20 people thats 160 to 240 total 25$ chips. It takes less than that for 15 people so already you're getting too many(300) 25's. You really need to tell us what you're starting stack amount is. Is it 10K? |

Chips: 2,654 | | | Re: Matsui Blue Sands Tounrey set help If you're looking for a 10K tourney set for 20 people then
25-240
100-300
500-240
1000-200
This gives 10K stacks of 12-25's, 12-100's ,9-500's and 4-1000's for 20 people with enough chips to color up each level for a total of 980 chips. If you want Plaques then get them for each plaque you can reduce then amount of 1000's by 5 or you can just make your starting stacks bigger by 5 or 10K in the beginning if you have to have 1000 chips. |

Using the 25's in the early rounds is exactly how I run mthe tourneys. Your breakdown makes sense. Just to keep things even I will probably get 250 each for the 25's & 500's. I am getting the plaques cuz I love playing with plaques and it completes the set. I will probably get 10 of them so I can use them at the final table
Thanks for the input +++ rep for everyone
