Alright, so thanks to those who replied to my last thread about this question. I posted a bunch of possible breakdowns in that thread and thought I would make a poll. I don't mind if the game goes 5-6 hours, but I don't want it going much longer than that. Which starting chip breakdown did you choose and why? (keep in mind I like big stacks and the guys I'm playing with are just recreational players)

Here is the blinds schedule I would be using, 20-30 minutes levels...definitely 20 minutes after the first 4 levels:

I like the 16-16-16-10, 58 chips per should be good.

I voted 12-12-7-10-1 because that's what my current chip set would allow (and it's cheaper).

Otherwise I would've chosen 16-16-16-10

With that relatively slow blind schedule, your game could last 7-8 hours if you have decent players who want to win. Or shorter, depending on how wild the players play.

Maybe take out a few levels, like some/all of 7-9-11-14?

I voted 12-17-20-8 (with 12-17-16-10 as a 2nd choice).

But I don't see an optimum schedule in your list. To me, something like 12-17-10-8-1 would be perfect. It's 48 chips, which should be a big enough stack to start. If you're not going to have antes, then anything more than 12 x $25 is too many.

My personal opinion/experience: we seem to have the best luck starting with fewer small chips and more of the next denomination. So I don't like stacks with 16-20 x $25s, that's a big waste of chips and time pushing small stacks around. Won't most of the betting be done with $100s or higher? And I think you should have 1 x $5K chip when you have such a deep stack tourney ($20K start but $25/50 blind level 1, which is 400 x BB).
