okay, i'm copying and pasting this from a thread that i posted in below mine but i have some questions for me

50 1000's
20 5000's

undecided how to do the extra 30 chips..maybe more 500's? not too sure yet.

running 8-10 people 10,000 tourneys. start with

20 25's = 500
15 100's = 1500
10 500's = 5000
3 1000's = 3000

48 chips = 10,000

Rebuy's for the first 2 hours (do with 2 5000 chips)

blinds 20 min levels

25 - 50
50 - 100
75 - 150
COLOR UP 25's (reason i'm getting the extra 50 100's)
100 - 200
200 - 300
300-600
BREAK (if you want or not) END OF REBUYS
400-800
500-1000
600-1200

700-1400
800-1600
900-1800
COLOR UP 100'S AND 500'S
1000-2000
2000-3000
3000-6000
etc.

that's 5 hours there and just keep increasing the blinds like above until the end.


for cash games i'm thinking

max 20 dollar buy in just use 25 c 25 c blinds
max 50 dollar buy in just use 25 c 50 c blinds
max 100 and max 200 just use 1 and 2 dollar blinds.

Let me know what you think and what everyone else thinks about it.

with what you have going there I would probably get $500 chips with the extra 30. This gives you $15,000 to color up all the $100's. A nifty program that I use to sort that type of stuff out can be found at homepokertourney.com:

Well, since you asked, one bit of advice I can offer is that you don't need so many $25s. 12 $25s will do the job just fine, as will 8 $25s, especially since they aren't in play very long. Just my opinion.

Your blind schedule isn't that smooth. At one point the blinds increase 200% from 100/200 to 200/400. Later the blinds only go up by 11% from 900/1800 to 1000/2000. The very next round blinds are doubled again.

thank you..you are right...this schedule is much much better. btw, looking back i made some mistakes typing in mine but even still this is much better.



about the 25's...yeah..that's why i'm going to get 600 chips instead of 500. more 25's means the set is more versatile and can be used in cash games.

okay so since i'm going to color up 100's that means i need more 500's then...

200 x 100 = 20,000...that means i need 40 more 500 chips.

um, should i only get 10 5000's then?..lemme check.

i have 20 1000's not in play and then 10 5000's not in play.

color out the 500s... 500 x 140 = 70,000

and that's exactly how many chips i would have left.

the only problem is rebuys now...

have everyone start with only 16 25's and have the extra 20 for the cash games.

then i will add 10 100's (to make up for dropping 100 in the stacks)

and then keep 20 5000's.

16 25's - 400 -------------will have 20 extra chips but can be used for cash games
16 100's - 1600 ----------will have 50 extra chips for color ups. (more than enough)
10 500's - 5000 ----------will have 40 extra chips for color ups.
3 1000's - 3000 -----------will have 20 extra chips for color ups
----------------------------will have 20 5000 chips for color ups and rebuys.

45 chips - 10,000


blind levels = 20 mins.

It looks like a good dual purpose workhorse. The reason I like this schedule is the break times, @100 minutes, @120 minutes, @80 minutes. Having too many breaks or ones that are too long throw off the rhythm of the game.

Now the most important question is what kind of chips are you getting?

I would figure out what your chip breakdown would look like when coloring up by removing all the $25's first....then think about the next level up by removing all the $100's.

It sounds like you've changed your break down, however, with the 30 extra chips, I would have gotten some extras of each denom for when some disappear.
