Breakdown for Tournament

Here's what I am thinking for a 300 chip set:

$25 100
$100 100
$500 70
$1000 30

What do you think?

16 players with a $4K stack starting

What are your starting stacks with this breakdown for 16 players each with $4k?

Re: Breakdown for Tournament

What about this?

Option #1: Using Every Chip (No Rebuys/Add-Ons/Color-Ups)

T3000/T4000
$25: 128
$100: 128
$500: 32
$1000: 16 or 32
TOTAL: 304 (T3000) or 320 (T4000) chips

T3000/T4000 Starting Stacks (for 16 players):
$25 = 8
$100 = 8
$500 = 2
$1000 = 1 or 2

Re: Breakdown for Tournament

For 16 people I think you'll have a hard time with 300 chips if you want an exact stack of $4k perperson.
Starting stacks as follows
8 - $25
8-$100
2- $500
2 - $1000

You need at least 8 $25 per person starting stack, so that's 128 of those
You need 32 $100 just to color up the $25's
YOu need 8 $100 per person (total of 128)to get the stack to $1000 (8x$25 & 8 x $100)
YOu need at least 2 $500 chips per person = 32 plus some to color up the $100's (let's say 20, you can also use $1000's).
You need at least 2 $1000 per person to get to a stack of $4k, so that's 32 and maybe another 10 to 20 to color up.

There are no rebuys available with this set.

You need 392 chips for this set up, you need chips to color up...you may want to opt for 400 chips to seat 16 people 10 people max for 300 chips.

Re: Breakdown for Tournament

300 chips for 16 players @ 4k stacks - can't be done - bump up to minimum 400 chips

T25 x 8 x 16 = 128 chips
T100 x 8 x 16 = 128 chips (plus 32 to color up T25)
T500 x 4 x 16 = 64 chips (plus 32 to color up T25 and T100)
T1000 x 1 x 16 = 16 chips

T25 x 128
T100 x 160
T500 x 96
T1000 x 16

400 chips

Re: Breakdown for Tournament

What about adding a $5K chip to the set?

What we usally do is:

8 $25 and $100 chips
2 $500 chips
2 $1000 Chips

that worked great when we had 10 players, now that we expanded to two tables, we don't have enough chips.

Do you do rebuys or addons?

16 players x 4k in chips is 64k in play. A 5k chip is not necessary.

Heads up you will have 112 chips in play using the 96 T500 and the 16 T1000 - that's good.

Re: Breakdown for Tournament

8x25 (128x25)
8x100 (128x25)
2x500 (32x25)
2x1000 (32x1000)

is 320, and that's somewhat of a bare minimum.

If your chips don't have denoms you could do like a T2000 tourney with 10/20 starting blinds, but if you want to keep 25/50 as your starting denoms you probably need some more chips.

I mean, technically you COULD do
8x25
8x100
3x1000

and it would only take 304 chips, but that's a pretty bad structure.

We did this at a tourney I played in for a bachelor party. Pretty bad is putting it nicely.
